We, The People
This is not MY party anymore...

Welcome to the club
I joined the GOP to vote for Reagan in 1980. The Democratic party I left was more conservative than the current GOP. It's not like conservatives have a choice anymore. Bush kicked us out of the party last week. I re-registered as an unaffiliated independent last November. I'm through with all parties. We need to separate our parties from money and make them take voters seriously again.

Amen!
Phil,
ALL of us have a choice, we simply need to get off our lazy backsides and VOTE (for someone, as you say, will take voters seriously).
John McCain's "Campaign Finance Reform" bill did NOT take the corruption out of politics (just look at William Jefferson [Democrat, Louisiana], as well as the plethora of Republican crooks).
The problem, of course, is that a CORRUPT POLITICIAN (regardless of party affiliation) is going to continue to be corrupt (no matter how many laws are passed to "prevent" it) - just like we all KNOW that no matter how many (more) laws are passed to restrict gun ownership, CRIMINALS will continue to get guns (and to use them).
If I'm not mistaken, it already IS a CRIME to murder someone, yet criminals continue to do so at an alarming rate. WHO REALLY thinks that ONE MORE law is all it's going to take to stop murders from killing people?
