An Unnatural Pairing

we need cultural structures

like marriage to be the guideposts of life, not the enablers of anybody's anarchistic viewpoints. I am for civil unions also, but we need marriage to remain as is.
new post up, stop by when you can...

We are indeed accused

of all sorts of ugly motives;labeled with all sorts of negative names. We are supposed to be tolerant while they are grossly intolerant, up to expressing their intolerance in violence and vandalism. What a swell bunch of homo sapiens.

Good post,Garnet 92.

Garnet, well reasoned argument

It makes all the sense in the world. Of course, good sense is not what those folks are interested in. But just for the biblical view, here's brother Paul from Romans chapter 1: 26 "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet."

Sorry folks for not responding

I'm pressed for time right now but will respond and visit your blogs tomorrow. Cheers. G.

We need to go for a beer again, soon. Before or after Thanksgiving? You choose the place, I'll buy.

Dave, will be by shortly

The problem with the strident gays is now that they've received a certain amount of acceptance, they have moved their goal to approval. That group won't be "happy" 'till they achieve superiority.

Hey, Bobbie

Homophobia is their favorite - phobia meaning to have an irrational, excessive and persistent fear of something. My position on the strident gays is not irrational or excessive, it may be persistent. It is an unnatural union - period.

BMU, I recognize the Biblical reference

The problem is that anything Biblical is automatically labeled as "irrational," by them and I was trying to present an argument that even a committed gay would find hard to refute.

Another beer would be nice - can't do before Thanksgiving but how 'bout Friday after?

Hey Garnet

I figured you would know the reference. I think that Paul used basically the same argument that you did: it's unnatural! But, as I said, they are not interested in good sense, no matter where it comes from. I just was wanting the point out the similarity of the two arguments.
Beer Friday after Thanksgiving. Sounds good. Be in touch.

And from an evolutionary viewpoint...

...such unions are a dead end since no genetic material can be transmitted to offspring. Ergo, if this were "natural" it would have been selected out of the population long ago. Not that I believe in the theory of evolution, but they most likely do, and in doing so they repudiate their own claims.

Not Normal

I spent Thanksgiving visiing relatives in New York, and when it came to pass that I was against Prop 8 in part because being gay is not "normal", I was not only presented with the conclusion that my viewpoint was "messed up", but spent the next fifteen minutes defending the notion that I had the right to bring the viewpoint up.

I'm glad I moved out of there.

Well done, interface

But alas, much too logical and reasoned to be accepted by that segment. Reality be damned - they want to be recognized as "equal" even though evolution never recognized theirs as a "natural" union.

Thanks for visiting Bill

Don't confuse me with "facts," my mind's made up. That's part of the Liberal Manifesto - one of their commandments. It has always amazed me how otherwise intelligent people can get so slanted in some opinions so as to eliminate any vestige of logical thinking.
