Three Questions
Where did you go to college? What is your degree in? What economic system, economic philosophy or economic theory do you subscribe to?
I ask the first two so I can understand where your ideology, or rather your understanding of ideology, comes from. I ask the last one because I wonder what your solution is. Sit on our hands? More of the same? Throw rocks at the White House? Blame liberals? There is a bit of a mental disconnect between being outraged that the government is bailing out companies without any regulation then being outraged that the government is putting in place tougher regulations on the companies we the people are bailing out. But then that disconnect is why I read this little patch of the internet... The same concept that the name of your blog is "Freeze the Fascism" when fascism is by definition a political ideology of the far right, while you seem intent to rail against those on the left. For your consideration: "Scour the Socialism" "Cremate Communism" "Lacerate Liberalism"

Excuse me, Nicholas, but
" . . . fascism is by definition a political ideology of the far right,. . . "?
Socialism is where government owns the means of production. Fascism is where the means of production are owned in the private sector, but controlled by the government.
The most-prominent fascist in American history was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Yet, in some cases FDR went for government-owned industries, e.g., electric power.
Barack Obama is a Keynesian opportunist who seeks a combination of socialism and fascism. Conservatism and fascism are antithetical.

Thanks drpete...
Nicholas - I went to Rutgers College and left without a degree to start a family. That doesn't stop me from being able to educate myself, a pursuit you might want to consider regardless of any degree you already have. I note that your reading comprehension skills are a bit lacking inasmuch as you accuse me of being outraged that businesses were bailed out with no regulation. On the contrary my complaint was that the businesses were bailed out AT ALL, which should be clear by sentence two: "The problem is, the only reasonable way to prevent this would have been to not bail out failing banks and corporations."
I also note your shallow accusation of fascism as a far right ideology "by definition". I am interested in where that definition came from. I venture to guess it comes from people on the left simply labelling people on the right 'fascist'. While even many university professors disagree on the details of what defines fascism, no one disputes that the maintenance of a fascist state requires a strong centralized and powerful government force.
Just because the fascism inherent in the policies of the left comes with a smiley face and good intent does not mean it is not fascism. I would say there is a bit of a mental disconnect between believing a political philosophy which demands the productive turn over their earnings to Big Brother so he can allocate it as he sees fit is not fascist while a political philosophy which believes people should be protected by their government not beholden to it, and free to pursue their own lives is fascist.

Don't be Angry
Don't be angry Jessy. You are a commy, according to your own words years ago. You still for a Flat tax? Facism? Political Correctness? Exceptionalism? You report we decide. For the record think of the great rewards in partitioning Iraq. You like to discuss dead babies? Think about Fascism. I don't want to live oppressed - do you?
