Sex Education

I believe in sex education, but I do believe that the parents must play a strong role.

I think that it MUST be comprehensive (safety, abstinence, everything) and it is important to know about sexually transmitted diseases because even if someone waits until marriage, their partner may not have done the same.

When it comes to sex education, I think that the parents should receive a detailed summary of the course so that they will be able to make an informed decision on whether or not the course is for their child. Then after they know exactly what to expect, they can sign a release for their child. Others like you said can take study hall or maybe they can provide some other type of coursework. At least the parents that would opt their children out would then be provided with guidelines to go by if they wanted to administer any information at home (which I hope that they would.)
