President Elect Obama's Economic Speech

Good breakdown
Basically, Obama is channeling FDR.
The democrats have been trying to re-implement the Raw deal since Truman won the presidency.
They don't care if they ruin the economy just like FDR did, they just want the Power that FDR had.
The pendulum may be swinging far to the left, but that just means it will swing even further to the Right in 2010.
Palin/Jindal 2012 :o)

Thank you for popping in and having a look-see at my analysis.
I do not have your confidenc that the pendulum is going to swing in the right direction. It is my hope YOU are correct.
Say, if you happen to stop by in this thread again, have a Q for you: I note that Palin/Jindal 2012 appears at the end of your posts. Why do you think this would be a viable ticket? Am curious how you arrived at this duo.
Thanx again for popping into Our Posterity.

BHO's economic speech sounds like many of his other speaking engagements. He uses repetitive words and phrases. 'Yes we can' 'change and Hope'
'We Will' and so on.
IMO , it's like he is using brainwahing techniques....'under currents' just below the surface that reach certain members of society's conscience , 'subliminal messages' if you will.
He is effective , reaching those who are not thinking for themseves. He reaches those who are easily swayed by supposed, 'charisma'
I have heard teachers say, 'Repetitive words, are key words' Keep repeating words, phrases, and they end up 'sticking in your head'...Kinda like a commercial jingle.
Just some thoughts. Thanks for letting me share.
You did a great job breaking down the 'key words and phrases.

I agree with you and your teachers. Constant, repetitive use of a single word or phrase does lead to it being 'stuck in your head.' Fortunately for you, me and many others -- we are not fooled by empty words/promises. Yea for us.
Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts and point of view here at Our Posterity. You are most kind.

Good analysis, Mrs. AL
“There appears to be a lack of understanding of the role of the national Executive Branch...”
That is a marvelous summary of the coming administration. This person apparently prefers to rely happy talk describing an outcome as sufficient substitute for direction on how to achieve that outcome. An executive makes hard the decisions necessary to accomplish a task. Wishing has never produced a single result.
I viewed his speech as the rhetorical equivalent to blowing out birthday candles, and I could almost swear that I heard a subtle under track of Perry Como while he was speaking.
“For when your troubles startn' multiplyin',
An' they just might!
It's easy to forget them without tryin',
With just a pocketful of starlight!
“Catch a falling star an' put it in your pocket,
Never let it fade away!
Catch a falling star an' put it in your pocket,
Save it for a rainy day!
“Save it for a rainy day!”

"I viewed his speech as the rhetorical equivalent to blowing out birthday candles ..." This is a great analogy. And the Perry Como song is priceless! Given I actually have heard this song, I sang it in my head and you are right on target.
Thanx again for popping in and I will be visiting your blog later in the week.

I found the analysis to be quite good. As for president-elect, I don't think I have ever heard so may promises with no clue on how to pay for them.
And every time he comes out, the Dow keeps tanking. Hmmm...wonder what that means.
This man still can not give a straight answer and it has bothered me from day one. It seems he is just wanting to be so popular and the next American Idol that he promises everyone the moon, the sun and the stars. And of course many fell for it. Well, when the stars don't shine and people find out the moon is made of cheese, then what? Ugh!

I appreciate your kind words about my analysis.
Next american idol is an astute observation. It appears to me he never quit being a community organizer and now he wants to use the EXACT same methodology/skill set on an entire country.
"Well, when the stars don't shine and people find out the moon is made of cheese, then what? Ugh!" I could not agree more. Talk about 'rioting in the streets.' Spooky.
Thanx again for popping in and I will be by your blog later this week.
