Welcome aboard!! Great posting!!

I love history, this was very detailed. It is hard to believe that people can understand or even accept that because if these principles, and defending them our country has remained successful thus far.

Here comes that secularism though..........stay tuned.

Thanks from Cato

Thanks for the lovely comment about the column Jason. I am a professor by trade and a natural born teacher, I am afraid. It is either my curse or my gift depending on how you look at it to get my sense of accomplishment in life from trying to enrich the understanding of those around me. I do believe it is a God-given gift.

I had a look at your blog as well, though I have not yet posted a comment. It was very interesting and a lot more colorful than mine. Mine is very word driven I am afraid. I guess I will have to start looking at how to post a few images. Thanks again for your kindness and encouragement.

Words are great, some people are drawn to them...like books. I will stop by again soon.

I thank You for being a teacher, they do not get credit enough for all that they do, and it is not easy in this day and age.

Take Care

You took the words right off my keyboard! My grown son is a liberal democrat educated at some of our "finest" institutions. Sigh. . .

Anyway, a couple of years ago at Thanksgiving, our local rag carried an editorial in which it was stated that "depending upon the decade in which you were raised, you were taught that the reason for the first Thanksgiving was " (and then it gave several different scenarios). I pointed out to my beloved son that HISTORY IS HISTORY - what a student is taught should not be dependent on the decade in which he is educated - the truth is the truth, and we know from the writings of the Pilgrims and early settlers exactly the reason for yhe first Thanksgiving.

I don't think it made any difference to him.

Maybe there is hope

Carol,

A great number of our mis-educated youth eventually get "mugged by reality" and get over their indoctrination. Sometimes, the more thoughtful ones will then finally start investigating for themselves. I hope your offspring awakens to the social and political reality. I certainly hope he does.

In any case, your son has a lot of company. A great place to see how it was that Obama got elected can be seen at http://www.howobamagotelected.com/

I wish you all the best and thanks for reading my blog. Come back anytime and bring your friends.
