Thanks for reporting...
...on this forgotten region of the world. It would be nice to hear a weekly report on the Philippines from Fox or CBN but they're to busy reporting on Sen Craigs tapping foot mens room adventures. And Paris Hilton. Nonsense like that. Can't hardly watch them anymore. Few realize whats going on there in the Phil. I pray for the Philippine people that they will get some common sense and reality come next election and elect someone w/integrity, honesty and courage. Who might that be? What does the future political landscape look like in the Phil?
Stop by for a visit if you have time. DD

GMA has done a pretty good job
under adverse circumstances. with no help from the self righteous bishops, the US state department and the NY Times trying to blame her for poltical kilings of leftists in rurapersonally l areas, and scolidng her for an state of emergency when her opponents attempted a coup plot
plus there's the constant carping and endless impeachment votes in the Phillipine house-all of which just serve to keep foreign investors skittish and slow the progress of the country, and in the end puniush the poor.
She ended the death penalty, ended abortion, ended divorce -all to promote a pro family culture of life.
she is also fighting the communist guerillas and the abu sayaff barbarians in the south, with a very small army and no help wahtsoever from our selfrighteous, unctuous uncle sammy and the intrepid "terror warrior" gw bush who is bogged down on a fools errand in Iraq.
if she pardons estrada she's a fool. she needs to declare martial law if erap is convicted and if his supporters then began acting out in the streets, and tell the liberal us state department and the NYT to butt out. they have done nothing to help matters .
btw we had allegations of election fraud in 2000, but we moved on. its does not matter if gwb stole the election or not, undoing an election is not practical or wise. Its totalluy destructive.
Nixon had the good statesmanship to concede and not contest a stolen election in 1960-so did gore in 2000.
The hello garci tapes are far from conclusive anyway. It was bad judgment calling garcilano,
on election night to "chek onthe returns" but I am not sure there was any voter fraud by GMA.

correction
of horrible spelling errors (actually typos)in my first paragraph
should have read:
GMA (Gloria Macapagal Arroyo) has done a pretty good job under adverse circumstances, and with no help from the self righteous bishops, the US state department and the NY Times trying to blame her presonally for political killings of leftists in rural areas- and scolding her for a state of emergency when her opponents attempted a coup plot.
Pray tell, what leader wouldnt do that in a small country where destabilzation and overthrow of the government is very possible?
It's easy for a large stable country like ours which cant be toppled by violent demonstrations outside the White House to self righteously preach to small nations about harsh measures used to preserve order. we need to butt out if we cant lend a hand.
