I was blown away
that Newt Gingrich endorses her. What the heck? This kind of departure from the base is what keeps the Republican party in the dog house. Will they never learn? Newt Gingrich? Can't believe it.
Good post BMU. Glad to hear from you.

Team Sports?
For the team to win, it has to have a Team Identity, GOP lost theirs when Newt got lost, and at this point Newt needs to stay lost, he's been shacking up with too many of his Liberal buddies.

I could have had some respect for the Party bigwigs if they had just left this race alone given the quality of candidate that was handpicked by Party hacks. But no, they had to ENDORSE HER. I guess in this age of the internet and blogs and email, they thought no one would notice. Ha!

Gar, You are correct
Team Identity? Yeah. But actually don't they need to be playing on the same team? Sometimes the R's send in players who are intent on running up the score for the other side. It don't make no sense. You oughta see the fan posts on the NRCC's Facebook. They are getting their chops busted but good.

You're right, BMU and I concur
The good news is that SUPERSARAH has endorsed Hoffman and his contributions soared the next day. She carries more weight than the dudes endorsing Scozzafava. Richard Armey (TH censors his name, how foolish is that?) also came out for Hoffman. Scozzafava is a RINO rhino.

Some days I just wonder if the "R" team knows which side of field its playing on.

Excellent, BMU!
And right in keeping with comments I just posted on another blog:
I'm only nominally a Republican nowadays partly because of so-called "young Republicans" like you, as well as some "older Republicans" (even some for whom I otherwise have a lot of respect), like John McCain and Lindsey Graham. You all seem to want to represent yourselves as "moderate Republicans," which I hate to tell you, my "young Republican" friend, regardless of your protestations to the contrary, translates into being a RINO. Research the history of the "real" Republican Party and hopefully you will see what I mean.
"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine. Or, if you don't like that one, "As an example to others, and not that I care for moderation myself, it has always been my rule never to smoke when asleep, and never to refrain from smoking when awake." - Mark Twain. The one by Paine plainly speaks clearly for itself; the one by Twain humorously cautions against being confused about what moderation really is and what it can lead to.
We don't need to be more "moderate." We don't need to become less principled to "enlarge the tent" and include more people. We need only to return to being more truly Republican, which means more conservative -- fiscally, socially, federally, constitutionally and morally -- and then those who we have lost will return and those who fear what they now see the liberal progressives doing to our country will also come.

some polls are tilting....
It is quite possible that many Pubs are finally sliding toward the real Pub in the elections in NY, NJ, and VA. That could include Hoffman. It is still possible. Doug should ask the GOP voters in the 23 to leave DEDE by the hundreds and not give Owens the race. Also, in NJ, Daggett is not a viable Pub, he is not a real conserv and Christie actually has a chance to win if Daggett voters remember just how corrupt Corzine is with his huge tax and spending and , and the largest protperty taxes in the world! Drop by my latest friends. As to Newt, now who cares? He is brilliant and wrong. He is now marginalized by his own too cute by one strategy of triangulation.

Hello Chuck and welcome
Well, I'm sure I agree with most of what you said. By no means am I a moderate when it comes to principle.
One thing, While I appreciate being called a "young" Republican, I'm no spring chicken, either. I'm old enough to have voted for Reagan twice, and I loved that man.
I will say that though the Republican Party may be the only national political mechanism available to save this country from abject Socialism, too many in the Party are in the business of pushing the very concept upon us.

Thanks Raccoons.
And now it's looking like Hoffman is pulling away from both the R and the D. I hope that trend continues. Here is an article written by the candidate himself.

I'm wondering what Newt is up to now. He's really confused me the past few months. Newt is smart, but to endorse her????
I'm looking to see what Hoffman will do, as well as a few others. 2010 and 2012 should be interesting.
(I pray we'll be out of the recession then)

Eric, Yeah Newt has become
an enigma of late. I'm praying the Dem's Socialist agenda is defeated: Public Option Medical, Crap and Tax, Card Check, and Illegal Alien Amnesty, so that we CAN have an honest economic recovery.
