Things are getting worse and worse, it seems. Our countries future at stake, with a president who has wronged not only his own people, but those who look to America as a beacon of hope, and our constitution has been thrown in a time capsule, waiting to be dug up again.
Now, with this swine scare, (I'm not worried about that), people's eyes are glancing to the side, missing the destruction of the American idea and dream. Truly amazing times we live in.
Great post.

Eric is right about part of the public. This has been more like watching a train wreck, the mind screams turn away but even then you are still unable to avert your eyes.
In '06 we threw out republican big spenders and replaced them with really big spenders setting the stage for the all time record breaker to take center stage.
His accomplishments have been few but they have been some real doozy's, or should that be Pontiac's since they don't make them anymore either.
Now if I can just get the wayback machine working again I guarantee you, that you won't have ever heard of John Maynard Keynes.
BTW, an interesting statistic, the One's 60% approval rating, that is. So 60% of the public has no idea what's wrong or how to fix it? Incredible!

Fantastic work Skep.
Demented is right!! Not only Obama and his fellow nitwits, but an alleged 60 % of the country. I have to wonder about these polls that generate such numbers. I know I'm not fawning over our Narcissist King or any of his thugs and certainly not his policies/programs. I do not count even 1 liberal among my friends and relatives. So where do they find these "happy" folks? They won't be happy forever. I guess when obama fails to ride in on his white charger and provide them all the stuff their dreams are made of and they lose their homes, their jobs, their cars and have to wait for months for health care.....maybe then the light will dawn. 20/20 vision when it's too late.
Sorry. I didn't mean to rant. Good good post!!!

That is the motto of Mississippi, By Valor and Arms. We of the State of Mississippi intend on "living" by it.
Perhaps 60% of the country do believe O'Vomit is doing a peachy keen job (I have my doubts concerning the sampling demographics); but everyone I talk to in Mississippi is buying ammo, guns, non-perishable food, medical supplies, and heirloom seeds. I speak to probably 100 people per week (contractors, engineers, architects, lawyers, etc.). All of them are scared to death. The financial types are especially scared.
All I can see to do is to get my daughter and her family in "close" to me and my wife, and prepare to "hunker" down if necessary. I am especially worried that as more and more "Socialist" legislation gets talked about or passed, that somewhere someone will get truly p*ssed and start the dance.

When I first read the title of the blog, I Googled it for a translation and there you are at No. 3 on Google! Excellent essay, Skep, as always.
It is hard to find the words to express the real fears that are looming in front of us. Now that pbho controls the House and Senate, thanks to Arlen Specter, what is to stop him from pulling a Chavez and declaring himself present forever. Bloomberg did it and it was so easy for him. As much as none of us misses Specter, Conservatives are disadamnppointed and the left continues to fly high with no sign of deflation in sight. My personal thoughts are that people are not paying attention yet. Two Alka Seltzers won`t help them when they wake up and are slapped with the cold, hard reality of where pbho has taken the nation.

BTW, HOW MANY TIMES in sports and politics have we seen the IRRESSITIBLE FORCE meet the IMMOVABLE OBJECT? Shrillary08, the UNDEFEATED New England Patriots, The Colts in Super Bowl III, the Orioles in the 69 World Series and on and on.
The BIGGER they are, the HARDER they fall.

People have calmed down from the panic of a couple of months ago. They mistake the panic subsiding for progress in our economic crisis. Most people dont know whats in the legislative hopper and cant spell out the results of some of these bills. The herd has run away from the fire but there's still smoke in the air.

The Fed pouring money into the system has muddied the water somewhat but the direction is the same. We're headed for some rough times and this is just the beginning. Obama is a Hugo Chavez-like character. He has no feeling for democracy. Chavez has been a total disaster for average Venezuelans. When the store shelves empty and electricity and gasoline become unaffordable lets see how popular these dudes are.

The polls were pretty accurate during the election. I didnt believe that people would be stupid enough to swing this hard to the left so I putt it down to media bias. I was wrong. I truly believe that 60% number. We're a small minority--and one that most people are angry at because we're telling them that the direction that they've invested all their hopes in is wrong. Too bad. None of this stuff is new and the results are predictable.

People in Miss have proven that they are a bit more hip than the rest of the country. Out here in Cali we're stockpiling 'Yes We Can!' bumperstickers as we get bombarded by the left-wing public employee unions to vote for another phony budget reform that will turn out to be a huge tax increase. Things were so bad during and after the writer's strike that the anemic recovery from that is mistaken for the glow of Obama's policies.

'Pride goeth before the fall' is also a nice quote. The more of these barnacled beltway liberal dinosaurs that jump ship the better. The thing that will defeat the libs is the total failure of their wrong actions. They need to be discredited or we can never change the direction of this country. Electing another milksop Bush is no longer enough.

Obama? A ham and egger with a glass jaw. He doesnt have any Newt Gingrich to balance the books for him. Just the policies ma'am...and look at those policies!

The Pubs, conservs, Christians are now like the old Coliseum in Rome with tigers tearing them apart and rationality and morality simply fades into the ether. The Times says today, Obama is already telling Americans just how all his health, bank, car, economic, stimulus, tax hikes will change forever, forever how Americans will do things from now on! Tyranny! Latin sure, but will the cry of John Wilkes Booth be the cry all Americans will have 10 years for now after , after the Obama peans are over.

I am so tired of all of the spending and the lame excuses for passing bills and these people that are getting cabinet positions. Oh Sebelius has to go through. She is the only woman for the job. Give me a break.
Now I am going to go now and silently scream.

and it's about to get worse
It's amazing that it's only been a hundred days. It seems he's already had a full term. Now Swine Flu Specter made it 60 senators, once the fiasco in Minn. is made official. As Pelosi said (Gunny put this on his post) "Very exciting, very exciting for the American people, because no we can get things done without explaining process," Don't let Specter fool you either. He WILL be a rubber stamp 60th vote on things that really matter or else he won't get the help he needs for fundraising in this upcoming election. Say hello to the Employee Free Choice Act. Say hello to cap and trade. Say goodbye to the "conscience clause", which allows doctors who are right to lifers to not perform abortions. Say hello to more banks and companies under the government's umbrella. Say hello to more debt and less power for the people. There will be at least two years of this. If you think the first 100 days were bad, wait for the next 21 months.

I fear you are absolutely correct. By the end of this term we may well look back at the first 100 days as the "Good Ole' Days"!
All that money hasn't stemmed unemployment and GDP is in free fall. Healthcare, energy, and amnesty will follow shortly and by next summer things should be really bad unless they can change the meaning of mathematics.
Average Joe's are always excited about new programs, hence the high approval number, then we get the bill and the song begins to change.

Its not how much money you print, its what people DO with the money that's available that creates wealth. The latest Obamunist thuggery ripping off the bondholders of Chrysler shows that no investment in this country is safe from these predators. These commies can print as many pesos as they like but it wont do them any good. Atlas has shrugged.

Tripe and triumph have become synonyms in the new age of Obamunism. Obama's lack of response to the Somali's was covered up by the rescue of one guy. A Trite-Tripe-Triumph sweeping a weak response under the rug and claiming victory.

I think that victory goes to the CO of the Bainbridge who saw a chance to use the standing ROE to take those azzholes out.
I'm watching to see whether he quietly retires, if so, that will speak volumes to me about the administration's involvement.
