The Man Got My Vote

You Made the Right Decision

Dear Sanity: I believe you have taken the "sane" approach. I'm a New Yorker by birth (Rochester, 330 miles from NYC), and I understand Rudy's some pugnacious nature. Like you, I believe he is a man who understands what is at issue in the War on Terror. I remember the young woman whose father died at the WTC and who was scheduled to get married in September, 2001. She told Rudy, and sure enough he was there at the wedding to take the place of her father. I also remember reading Malcolm Gladwell's book The Tipping Point and how he described how Rudy (and police chief Bratton) dramatically reduced the crime (and murder) rates in New York City, mainly by taking care of the "little things" that tend to create a climate for crime. On the life issue, which you discuss so eloquently, I take Rudy at his word that he will appoint strict constructionist judges, a claim that Hillary Clinton will never make. Yes, I hope (and believe) he will have someone like Sarah Palin as a running mate, and that he will listen to her views. I also take him at his word that he will commit to reducing abortions and increasing adoptions. If we can protect America, we will then have established a foundation to IMPROVE America and build greater respect for life from conception to natural death. I believe Rudy will be a very good President. I believe our "buddy" Sarah will be a great one.

Part of the Process

My political ally and friend Diana Lynn Irey -- a strong pro-lifer -- has joined many other Pennsylvanians in endorsing Rudy Giuliani. I think her reasons are much like mine -- and yours, the critical need for national security. Gov. Rick Perry of Texas is a strong pro-lifer, and he's endorsed Rudy. If Mrs. Clinton is elected President, it would be a very damaging blow to social conservatives. Some of them don't want to admit that, but it's a point that should be obvious.

Politics like life is all part of a process. There are young people out there like Sarah Palin, William Russell, Diana Irey, and Bobby Jindal, the new Gov. of Louisiana who will before too many years go by be ready to lead this country. Rudy is a key part of that process.

Steve

I have listened to your words...sometimes witty, sometimes achingly wise...and taken them not always with joy but with much thought.

And here I am, it took me just a half of a year, but I have come to see what you see.

I will vote not for the man who will give me everything I want...but for the man who will give me the best chance to make everything I want happen.

Applause, applause!!!

It's amazing how much we think alike. I've come to the same conclusion about Rudy. I want him to take on the Democrats and the media! He's not an insider, like Senators Thompson and McCain. They've been good buddies with the Democrats for too long. It's clear the Dems will not work with a Republican President. "W" certainly tried!

It will take Rudy who fought the mafia and won, to take on the Dems and win! Both wars, as you said.

Sanity, Sandra, & New Blog

Sandra is wise ... and sanity is sane.

Hi, my political blog continues with at least five columns per week -- focusing this week on the campaign of Lt. Col. William Russell against the odious John Murtha. http://camp2008victorya.blogspot.com.

I've also started a new blog that emphasizes "living better on less (money)." It's about spending less and enjoying it more -- basically, how to free oneself from the rat race. I hope you and your readers will visit this site at: http://livebetteronless.blogspot.com. It also answers one of the world's most pressing question: "Where in the heck is Ambridge, PA."
