Franken For Senate - A Lesson to Learn

I find it very hard to believe that Al Franken really wants to win an election. He's running for office to get the spotlight off the huge failure that was Air America.

What are his chances? How big of a "gap" has he closed?

I don't disagree that he may be an opportunist. The point was he is willing to at least give it a shot. It would be nice to see some others who want to serve their country do the same. As for the gap he's closed, according to Rassmussen, he is within 12% points of his opponent, and the incumbent in at 48%. I don't follow polls enough to know what that means exactly, and it's still very early days yet in the race, but the impression I got was that an incumbent under 50% is considered vulnerable to upset. Personally, as I said, I don't think he has the qualifications to be a Senator. I don't think his ideas are particularly good or original. And there is still plenty of time for that to be shown in the race. But, again, the point was that he is running, whatever his reason, and that is more than can be said for many of those complaining about the way things are going.
