Paul then quotes the Psalms in saying that no man seeks God. One can easily find sin in Palestinian society. But unless you believe in superiority and entitlement, then you have to acknowledge a worse sin in Israel as it uses its greater power to abuse and kill Palestinians.

The problem is using force rather than abiding by law. Israel is using force to strangle the Palestinians and take their land even though there is an alternative. The alternative is to abide by international law and return to the '67 borders. I do not know 1 Arab country that does not endorse that plan.

So the problem isn't whether Israel should play war on the same battlefield. The problem is that Israel chooses to play war to take more land and resources for itself and in the meantime, they continue to kill Palestinian civilians including women and children.

What you don't get is that the nation Israel receives God's salvation by believing the Gospel, not repossessing the land. Since, as Romans 9:6ff states, that not all Israel is of Israel. Or as Paul writes in Galations, it is those who believe the Gospel who are the true descendants of Abraham, in contrast to the descendants of Abraham through the flesh. Or Jesus's rebukes of the Pharisees regarding their pride in being related to both Abraham and Moses. And contrary to the title of your note, you didn't cite anywhere in the NT where Israel is commanded to take the land back or is mentioned as repossessing the land at all. The mentioning of Mt Zion implies nothing about the nation Israel.

In addition, we get the whole earth to preach the Gospel, not to dominate. Paul states that our weapons are spiritual, not physical. Furthermore, Hebrews tells us that we have no home on this earth and this is also implied in Revelation 12 where the woman and her descendants are persecuted by the dragon in the wilderness--remember that the wilderness was the place that Israel wandered as aliens on their way to the promised land.

So, still waiting Watchdawg. I understand the sentiment but the NT is clear with regards to Abraham's true descendants being spiritual descendants rather than descendants through the flesh.

That this could have happened anytime after the diaspora also indicates that. That the true descendants of Abraham are not the Jews in the flesh but those who, like Abraham, believed despite their own fleshly abilities also indicates this. That Paul regards as loss all of his Jewish accomplishments because they mean nothing indicates this. God's people are those who believe in Christ, not those who have an certain ancestry. despite the confusion of your notes, the issue isn't whether we will win, the issue is how we will win. We are not in a physical battle with spiritual implications, we are in a spiritual battle where, as Paul said, our weapons are spiritual, not fleshly.

Christians are not called to fight physical wars for the Gospel, they are called to preach the Gospel and accept what happens. That doesn't mean that physical wars are never necessary, it does mean that such wars are fought for general justice issues where the soldiers include Christians and non-Christians, and unfortunately, Christians have fought on both sides in such wars.

Likewise our defenses are spiritual not physical--this is at least what Paul says.

Also, our treasure is to be in heaven not on earth, this is what Jesus says.

Finally, the mention of Zion in Revelation implies nothing about the regathering of the Jews in Israel. I will leave it to you to prove otherwise.

First, Clinton sabotaged the rules so that Saddamn could not follow them.

Second, why did we set the rules so that their people would die if his gov't did not comply? Again, Saddamn was a monster but we were the ones pointing the gun, making threats and pulling the trigger. And we were the ones who destroyed most of their civilian infrastructure, a war crime, before the sanctions.

Also, what you need to realize is that until the invasion of Kuwait, we were complicit in all of Saddamn's crimes since we provided money and materials for the WMDs he used. In addition, why take credit for forcing Al-Qaeda out of Iraq when they didn't enter Iraq until after our invasion?

BTW, if you want to support your country right or wrong, then take credit for the gang warfare mentality that follows. It was Augustine who said that the gov'ts that did not follow law and practice justice were merely a gang of thieves. Certainly that fits many gov'ts in the world and it also fits ours regardless of the political affiliation of the President.

As horrifically wrong as the terrorism is, much of it is in response to our unjust actions. So if you want to fault me for wanting to abstain from unjust actions, go ahead. Also, why fault me for consequences that were not the result of my decisions? We weren't inactive prior to 9-11 and thus we were attacked. We were not attacked because I, as President, kept my country from acting. That didn't occur so please show me where my fault is here.

Either it is a poor attempt at humor or perhaps you need a rest.

Again, we were attacked because of our actions, not our inactivity. We were attacked because of our sanctions and war against Iraq, because of our support for Israel as they have murdered many innocent Palestinians, and because of the presence of our troops in Saudi Arabia. All of that is pretty documented by both Robert Fisk and CNN. You could add Jason Burke to that list of documentation as well.

Though the last reason is religiously based, the other two deal with issues of justice and morality--and we were lacking just as those who attacked us were lacking. Sometimes, war pits evil against evil.

And of course what is not included here is our support for Saddamn Hussein before he invaded Kuwait. So, whatever point you would like to make, please include facts that are both true and fit your argument.

The only way you can claim to be right is to claim to be right--kind of like the Pope. International law states otherwise. According to such law, you cannot target civilian infrastructure, that is what we did in the first gulf war. And the subsequent sanctions kept that same infrastructure nonfunctional. As a result, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children died of disease as we enforced those sanctions and kept their infrastructure in the same state.

So our enemy sees our blatant disregard for civilian life and decides to imitate our actions. And you want to blame me because our enemy imitated actions that you support and I oppose.

Manhood is not the issue here, logic is. And you have failed to make your point. If you want, we can repeat this as long as you like. The constant that will stay with the discussion is that actions you supported and I opposed caused an enemy to attack us in a similar way.

Again, our country has done wrong things and we got an unjust payback when we were attacked. Their anger was justified but their actions were horrifically immoral--just as our actions have been.

I don't disagree with putting trust in Christ. The question was are the Jews to be regathered and given back the land of Israel? And if so, then do the Jews have the right to take the land from the Palestinians? That was the issue between snow and I.

So far then, I neither agree nor disagree with your interpretation of Rev 14 because I need to review that and I don't have the time to do that now.

The question is not about the Jews. I was pointing out those who are in CHRIST. When Jesus walked the earth he gathered. It is both the Jews responcibility as well as the gentiles to put their trust in HIM. That is what God is doing today--caday. THAT is my point. God is gathering his people IN CHRIST. Not just in Israel today but in every nation in the world today. THAT is why I pointed out to you the vision in Rev 14--let me review that for you--Mt Zion (also refers to the church) is there in the triumph of Christ and his kingdom-it is BOTH phisical as well as spiritual.It is as simple as that. I do believe that is what Snowknight was tring to point out to you.

ole caday here is many things but he did not cause the events of 9/11. Insane terrorists who were blind with hate did those things. The discussion you jumped in the middle of was about the Jews and Israel and whether they have the right to kick the Palestinians off. That was made clear by the April 25th note at 8:46AM. And then consult the dialogs from April 26 to May 5th.

As for God gathering his people, that is called the second coming or the Church--see last paragraph. Until that time we are to go out into the world to preach the Gospel. So if you want a point of contention, there it is and then you can act all authoritative again.

Finally, the gathering together is, if I remember correctly, a meaning for the Church. The greek word for church means called out of and the the greek word synagogue would come close to the verb meaning gather together. But for right now, we have no earthly kingdom. Until Christ returns, we are to fight a spiritual war with spiritual weapons and using spiritual armor.
