The Age Of Obama

I didn't like the song in the 1970's; but your parody is not bad.

O'Vomit fits in well with all this new age shiite.

Curt

I'm amazed at how naive everybody is, like we're in Candy Land.

How about "Go ask Alice"?

Glad to be of service CF

I was reading your reply to me on Stefano's blog and decided to pop over here to see if there was anything new.

The Age of Obama has a nice mystical feel to it and fits his cult of sycophantic worshipers.

A lot of starry eyed followers are in for a very rude awakening soon. The fall of Obama will be hard.

Great parody!
I wish i could sing, I'd record some of your parodies and Mrs Paddy's stuff, it would be a hit on the conservative blogs. :o)

I can see Prez Obama in a dashiki, sporting an afro, halo surrounding him....

Damn, this is probably the new WH uniform!

The Fresh Prez of Bill Ayers...

... is going to inspire lots of good parodies, and this isn't the least of them. Much as I hated that whole decade, it fits. Besides, I'll probably wind up hating this one too. Good job, Friar.

Good stuff, C. Friar

Wasn't it the Pointer Sisters that did it originally? Bet they'd reprise it with your new lyrics!

Hey Curtal Friar

Remember me? We chatted at Jack's place. That parody brought back my memories from the 70's. The musical "Hair" epitomized for me the period when America left her true spiritual moorings. The Age of Obama, indeed.

Gray Ghost

It's funny just how well the lyrics fit Obama and his band of true-believing acolytes.

I didn't have to change hardly anything in the lyrics, just aquarius to Obama and seventh house to white house.

"Go Ask Alice"?

Hmm...I'll have to give some thought to that one. I might be able to come up with a good parody with that song. It would definitely take some heavy drugs for me to see things Obama's way.

Jackpine

We should get the whole bunch of us from the chatroom into a studio to make a recording.

Keith Arnold

Oh yeah....the next four years are gonna be filled with laughs and material for countless jokes about the almighty messiah.

I don't think the libs will be laughing much, though. LOL

Garnet92

LOL....you had to inquire about who originally sang the song.

After doing some research, I found the original group was The 5th Dimension.

One of those groovy, spaced out, drugged out, hippie groups from the late sixties/early seventies.

bob's my uncle

"Hair".......argh.

You know, I actually liked the movie back when it came out, not so much because I identified with hippie philosophy, but because I was going through a rebellious stage as a teenager, and Hair is nothing if not rebellious against authority.

amabOmania

Haha! This took me back to my disco days! Do I want to go there? No, no, no! (Someone wrote a song about that!) Somehow, I don`t think Robert Gibbs can give PBHO cover much longer! It is so very complicated! Could we possibly live with Plugs as President? Something to ponder ....

I am an Aquarian (birthday next week) born solidly in the Age of Aquarius, so I am all to familiar with the original. Never really liked it, though...but, this revision gets me to thinking, what does the future hold for the "Age of Obama" kids? I heard Barack is the most popular name in Kenya now. And, since Barry is gonna f this whole thing up, what kind of legacy is left to his namesakes? Kind of like all of the little Saddams running around Iraq, or the Pols in Cambodia, I guess.

Nice re-do.
