Faith Based On Tax Dollars

I don't believe that government supported faith based initiatives are the right solution - but I'd rather my tax dollars go to churches than to government agencies.

I believe the work should be done by churches -- but rather than sending tax dollars to churches, we don't we just stop over taxing the American people and let them choose what they want to do with their money? Wouldn't it be better to let people choose give directly to churches (Christian or otherwise) than to have the government take the money?

Welfare isn't the job of government and when they attempt to do it, they do it poorly. Faith Based Initiatives are the conservatives attempt to correct that, but the better solution would be to just stop government funded welfare altogether. I'm not against helping people -- I just don't believe government is helping...
