Is it me or is there CONTRADICTION here?
OK, so should Kennedy have just given up and not done any good just because his life was filled with so much bad? Who are you to judge? You are not God. This is what bothers me about right wingers and Repugnicans. Does your God and religion promote this sort of behavior. Juding another man. Speaking of another mans sins as if you have none. Speaking on a man's positive accomplishments as if they should not be acknowledged or favored because he committed sins. So have u....u just did it. How does a group of people who cling to their religion, carry out there lives completely opposite of that which is taught in the bible. Sad!

Clearly this article is not about Kennedy, but about the social gospel of works. Kennedy was used here merely an example of the inability of man to work his way to salvation.
You profess to know what the Word of God says, in your "clinging to religion" comment. But do you know it says this:
1 Timothy 5:20
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
Now if we are not to judge and know sin for what it is, then how are we to rebuke them that commit said sin? and before all, no less?
The "good" Kennedy did is debatable, in that he helped perpetuate a dependancy lifestyle for millions of Americans. In so doing, I believe he was an enemy of the Gospel of Christ.
Sad? indeed, for a man with such a pulpit to use it for his own greed.

Repent and believe the gospel…
No! All men are commanded to repent and believe the gospel, not to deny the gospel by working their way to heaven following a false gospel. I know all about the covenant of works, because that’s where I used to live. The mystery is that you do not know you are its captive until you understand grace. Please tell us ‘what is taught in the bible’. Show us where the kingdom of God is of this world and to be pursued by the state. Show us where a man is justified by his works.
You profess knowledge of ‘what is taught in the bible’ and are quick to accuse us of unbiblical practices. Can you not see that the social gospel is a perversion of Biblical Christianity? You will defend it because this is a gospel that the world can accommodate, even though it is written that ‘friendship with the world is enmity with God. Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God’ [James 4].
We cling to Jesus Christ by faith because this world and its works are already passing away. And what are you clinging to? When we lie on our death bed, sending a letter to the Pope will not prepare us to meet eternity, either is Darwin read at funerals.

Was James a modern liberal?
James 5:1-6 says:
"Come now you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are comingupon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have corroded and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. Behold, the wages of laborers who mowed your fields which, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you."
It seems that the modern liberal is neither the only nor the first one to notice class warfare. And it seems that that war was already declared by the rich.
Certainly not all rich participate in class war but SOME do according to James and modern liberals. Whatever those on whom the rich wage war do it is a reaction, not a first response.

Stop the nonsense…
James makes reference to the Sermon on the Mount [Matthew 6:19] to teach the churches that the treasures that last are laid up in heaven. The rich man is condemned for his passion for the things of this world. He enjoys his good thing now, but in the world to come he will reap his just reward of judgment. The Christian is admonished to be patient, for his good things will come in the world to come.
What does your reference to James have to do with socialist class warfare used to justify the confiscation of private property by the state?

Chiefest of Sinners - Time for a lesson
Rebuke means to reprimand, reporve, admonish and or scold. So fine tell the world that you do not agree with Obama's views or his actions. I get that. It's ur opinion and because you both are on different sides of the political scale and party, it makes perfect sense that you would not agree with most of his agenda. But rebuke does not mean wish death upon him, wish him to fail, spread lies and propaganda about him. Ur actions do not define rebuke or godly practices. Jesus taught me to pray for my enemies, pray for the weak minded, pray for guidance for those lost. If these are the things u feel about our president, don't create these fantasies that at the end of the day make you guys appear mentally detached - JUST PRAY - considering u all "cling to Jesus by faith".

The axe you have to grind, must be ground elsewhere; for you are attributing comments to those of us here that have not made said comments.
For instance, who has said anything about wishing death upon anyone? have I spread "propaganda" here? and about who in particular? What actions of mine do you refer to that "don't define rebuke or godly practices?" What fantasies have we "guys" created that make us appear "detached"? What lies have I told? That socialism is tyranny, which makes it oppose liberty and the Gospel of Christ?
Put down your Obama placard long enough to realize it is not the lies he tells and the policies that he espouses that have made this country the greatest nation the world has ever seen-but it will be those lies and policies that he espouses that will take away your liberty and bring you into captivity in ways you never imagined.
Look at your history books, and admit where this world would be now, if it wasn’t for America, and all by God’s good grace.
When you wake up, if you ever do, it will be too late that you realize living the Gospel of Christ is far better than being able to quote a few disjointed verses in feeble opposition to the Truth.

M.E. pt 2
I'll leave you with some words from Godly David, who Paul said that God called a man "after mine [God's] own heart" (Acts 13:22):
Psalm 139
20For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
21Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Verse 24 is the prayer of all men, who desire Truth and Light.
Now if David had a heart like God's, then was he ungodly to utter these verses? Thank God for Jesus Christ, who has tempered the judgment of God, for all who truly believe.
Sadly, what we see today is a people who think that "God is Love" and won't require of us justice, mercy, and humility. But what if YOUR enemies (Rom 5:10) took your only child, tortured and killed him, after all He showed them was the love of God? Would you then be in a loving mood, when they refuse the greatest act of love the world has ever known by then trodding his blood underfoot everyday, and counting it as an unholy thing (Heb 10:29)?
Hebrews 10:31
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
I pray that the fear of God would fall on this nation, believers and unbelievers alike, that they all might be stirred unto the Truth.
