Maggie's Come Home and Pastor Wright Is In the Crosshairs

Pastor Jeremiah Wright

It is amazing to me that we, the people, are so naive as to trust the rhetoric of the media. Sure, I, as an African American disagree with the over-the-top comments by Dr. Jeremiah Wright but we need to ask ourselves a question, especially as conservatives. Is it really reasonable to denounce a man that led you to Christ? As Christians, we all have had ministers that spoke words that we vehemently disagreed with from the pulpit. But, did we leave the Church that had a direct impact on drawing us to salvation? NO. We bided our time. Furthermore, the media could only come up with 3 sermons over thousands of sermons of Dr. Wright that were separatists in nature. We must ask ourselves what else? I had a friend send me a clip of Dr. Jeremiah Wright's condemnation of Walmart and how this chain has destroyed the mom and pop businessess in small towns and rural America. Why aren't we receiving this footage? Because it would speak to the hearts of poor whites or whites struggling to maintain their business.

And I agree 100% that the Clinton campaign manager, a so-called sister, is the reason for the recent injection of race into the campaign. Here is one thing that I know will happen. Hillary Clinton will steal the race, and blacks will defect. And smart John McCain, who has stood firmly against anyone that used racist statements or evoked separatism, will be able to garner some of that defected vote. And for me, a republican, that will be wonderful. It is obvious that a Clinton White House again will further tear apart this country.

One more thing, Did the media condemn the numerous public pastors of white descent that blamed the people in Louisiana for the catastrophe of Hurricane Katrina? NO! These men of God said that the victims deserved it because of the sin in the city.

It is Responsible to Denounce

I agree, it would be a very difficult decision to leave the church and leadership of the person who led you to Christ. Once you know Christ, there is a responsibility to those who have not yet been led to Christ to denounce that which you know is not from Christ, but rather from a man who has drifted dangerously away from the gospel of Christ and has begun inciting and implanting anger and hatred in the hearts of men, women, and children. Anger and hatred of an entire race is not encouraging a heart toward salvation, it serves as a hindrence to salvation. When Pastor Wright went astray is only for him to deal with, but standing by silently implying agreement with his now skewed thinking is the responsibility of each member of that church who does know Christ.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and raise these very rational thoughts. I appreciate it very much.
