secession? Texas is a hotspot. It won't be pretty if it happens. Open the door for blue helmets to help keep the peace.

The stage is set for revolution. The federal government is vastly overreaching its Constitutional limits. Obama could very well prove to be the match that starts the fire.
The scary thing is:
Maybe this is what he wants.
If he truly is muslim, and believes in the muslim cause, then maybe he wants a Constutional crisis. A divided America would be much easier for muslim forces to attack.

Indeed, it has come to this and has been coming for quite some time.
Please forgive me for repeating myself, but what most U.S. Citizens refuse to acknowledge or are not taught is simple -- the Constitution was written FOR THE STATES, BY WE THE PEOPLE. This simple truth has been lost and is at the core of what we are experiencing today -- IMHO.
Thanx for the post and all the links. Clearly this is important.

saltwater.Yes! That pesky old 10th Amend
When discussing the Bill of Rights, the prof hesitated at the 10th amendment.
"Ah! Yes! We'll get back to the 10th...but first we must examine the 13th, 14th and 15th...then,too, there's the "Commerce Clause." Now the Commerce Clause has more relavence than the 10th...but we'll get back to the 10th...
Also, consider that 14th Amendment very likely invalidated the 10th Amendment...but we'll get back to the 10th Amendment.
That was 40 years ago. I think the prof died when he gagged on the 10th Amendment.
All of the United States Supreme Courts in my life time except the court led by Chief Justice Warren Burger gagged on the 10th Amendment. The other Chief Justice Warren, Earl Warren, wiped his shoes with the 10th.
I cannot forget Chief Justice Rehnquist. He fouhgt for the 10th, though the enemy battalions were so mighty that his success was obscured by the avalanche of anti federalist sentiment.
You cannot be a Conservative anywhere, not just in Texas, if you don't know about the 10th Amendment.
Thanks.
Happy Trails.

davecatbone, secession is not the answer
at least, not at this point. That may come a time, but prudence requires we make every effort to correct the wrongs before undertaking such a drastic measure. These resolutions, and similar ones, are the first steps – petitioning for redress just as our Nation's founders attempted prior to moving to sever relationships with England.

Curtal Friar, Obama may be the catalyst
leading to division of the country. He may even desire such fracture. I don't believe he is Muslim, or that he wants the US under Sharia, but his madrassa training may have planted the seeds for a vision where all are subservient to a single set of values. Destroying unity among the States would remove their collective protection, allowing greater opportunity to absorb them individually.

AL (Mrs. Always Learning), your simple statement embodies the very essence of the Constitution.
For someone who is “alway learning” you make a terrific teacher.

is an apt description of this movement back to our Constitutional mandate. Yes, it also frightening to consider what may lay in store for us if those usurpers decide to force more aggressive action in their desperate cling to power.

Klemcadiddle, the 10th Amendment
is but one piece. I also suffered under “educators” who dismissed the 10th – even to the point of suggesting any claim of “States Rights” was equated with a pro-slavery mindset, and nothing else.
I have yet to see any structure with only one corner. I see the 10th Amendment as the central pillar supporting a Constitution built upon many cornerstones.

"Nullification"
I first read about what New Hampshire is doing on TH (it was on a link provided by a commentor). I am all for it. I am glad to see other states are following suit. I can only hope that all fifty (not 57 like Oz believes) states will also do so. I will be notifying my Rep. and Senator, but I doubt if they will do much (they are both hardcore Dems). I also wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog and providing the info I was looking for. Finally, I wanted to leave this link to an article;
http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/02/06/florida.abortion/index.htm l
I hope you will stop by and read it and also pass it on. We need to get this news out there. People really need to know what is truly going on in these places. They also need to be made aware that The Great Oz and Planned "Parenthood" support this type of thing 100%. We need to do it because the LSM will not.

You're doin' good!
Dear Saltwater: You're a rare one, ye are! Keep on keepin' on with the good conservative philosophy. I really enjoy your posts. I wrote to Red Meat & Cigarettes to acknowledge a comment from him, and confessed that I had sent a comment to myself! I recognized the name, and then realized it was me. And it still is. When I respond to a comment -- such as those you have been kind enough to send, how do I do it? What little secret buttons do I push? If you will tell me this, it will be a good thing. I do admire your thoughtful, gutty posts. God bless you, pal. RIGHT ON RED.
