California Does Not Have A Budget Crisis - Vote NO on Propositions 1A-F

Keith

Good luck. I hope California voters vote all 6 propositions down.

However, you might want to look at putting all of your state representatives on the "Rock" and losing any keys.

All their propositions

sound like more schemes to spend more taxpayer money without accomplishing anything worthwhile for those taxpayers. I totally agree, not only in California, but pretty much across the country, that incumbants need to be booted out. If enough of them lose their positions, maybe those remaining would "see" that they need to clean up their act. (Although I'm not sure they're that bright) Our country is in dire straights and part of the solutions has to be getting control of our out of control politicians.(not to mention knocking some sense into voters empty heads).

Good work as always, Keith.

Gray Shose and Bobbie

I like Gray Ghost's solution! Con artists do belong in prison, after all.

"Schemes" is the best word for them, Bobbie - and the worst part of it is, they count on voters being too lazy and too stupid to read the propositions. Many look no further than the title they assign to each proposition. "Children's Services Funding Protection" - well, we should certainly vote for that, right? Unfortunately, the legislators are more often than not right on this point. Unless the diligent get the truth out, they know that they could legislate a new 200% tax increase and get it passed as long as they label it "Free Kittens For All Children!"

You only think I'm kidding...

As you say, the governing class is

counting on the apathy of the inert class of voters to fail to understand the props and just vote "Yes" across the board.

I have another solution. California has a vast resource of intellectual brainpower right there in Follywood. Why not convene a "blue ribbon" committee composed of creative thinkers like Susan Sarandon, Tom Robbins, Woody Harrelson, Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, Dustin Hoffman, Madonna, Janeane Garofalo, George Clooney, and Barbra Streisand and see what they come up with. I've no doubt that they would: 1) blame it on George Bush and, 2) ask D'ohbama to send more money.

Keith

Went to the local Chamber and rooted the board on to standing against 5-6 props. I myself will vote NO on all of them. Talked to Dem reps about this. They admitted that they do not want to cut stuff because they could lose the non-producer vote ac ross the state. It is about time. Drop by friend. And where do you live in Ca.?? I live in LB.

You know the old method

of carrying the cannery down the mine shaft.

Canaries were taken down to test for gas. When there was gas the Canary got distressed and men and Canary were soon removed to safety. When testing was finished the bird was taken above ground...not left hanging in the mine.

Well, California’s the canary and Obama is the miner. Can there be any doubt that the miner will save his pet canary. With our dollars of course. In which case, hey! Why bother having states?

Where’s BrianR? Doesn’t he reside in Leftafornia?

Garnet92, Rackoons, and InTheNow:

Rackoons: good job going to the local Chamber. I'm in Alhambra, just 45 minutes from you in Long Beach. You bring up a good issue in your use of the phrase "non-producer vote." Why do non-producers have a vote? Of course they should be expected to vote for whoever grants them the greatest largesse at taxpayer expense.

Everyone: I've just posted an update with an interesting punchline; check back in the body of the post, at the bottom, for some wisdom (hat-tip to JG at ThreeSources).

Garnet: does the Prezznit even have any money left in the government treasury to give out? I'm stunned there's anything left - unless someone's discovered a way to connect the printing presses directly to the warp drive. As for you Democrat-blue ribbon committee, it's been a long time since any opinion of theirs has made enough sense to matter to me.

InTheNow: "Why bother having states?" Indeed! State sovereignty is all but gone in the face of the overarching federal government. If you live in a state with a serious sovereignty movement (and I've seen several in the news recently), support it! President Renard will be saying a few words on the subject very, very soon...

Keith

Can't wait til the rest of us in flyover country get a taste of what Comifornia is cooking. At this rate, it won't be long...

I second GG's motion.

Keith

If they are defeated, will someone try to circumvent this through the State Supreme Court?

Sgt. Stryker and Georgetwin:

Sgt. Stryker: the danger for you in "flyover country" is that the current administration will rob from you all to keep California from falling off into the fiscal Pacific. If AIG is "too big to fail," then can you picture the Prezznit not bailing out a reliable blue state?

Georgetwin: that's a good point. Rather than accede to the will of the majority when Proposition 8 (the measure banning homosexual marriage), the losers went to court (as well as throw a public hissy-fit and got vicious with their opponents. I think it even more likely that without overturning the vote, the courts would ORDER California to provide all the services it has been - and to raise taxes in order to pay for it.

I agree with Glenn Beck

Let California fall. Move to Texas.

Vote No! And Then Vote No Again!

Good luck with the election today, Keith! Saw the governator schmoozing with prezbo earlier today .... I guess he is between Barack and a hard place, being married to Maria .... How did this happen to California? Too many regulations! Too many giveaways! Too many enviromaniacs! But it is not too late!
