Say No to the Bailout and the "Car Czar"

Absolutely great post, Steph.

Couldn't have said it better myself.(:- Of course, The nit-wits on the Hill probably won't listen to such good advice; it makes entirely too much sense.

Agree with you 100%. good Work.

I won't buy

from the Big 3 until the UAW is thrown out.

Stefano

This post is what I would call "prescient". I cannot see any good outcome with all this "bailout money" coming from nowhere.

I don't think that the UAW will go away, but if there is a bankruptcy reorganization, their idea of a contract will be adjusted considerably. They've been eating at the Big 3 financial trough like pigs for years and have done so because of their highly effective collective bargaining skills. The goose can no longer lay the golden eggs they have become accustomed to. Under no circumstance should they be allowed to extract money from our national treasury under their current contracts.

Stephano

Did you notice how the UAW is showing ads to support the bailout. Way to spend the money!

The thing that does bother me is Obama basically bought the union vote. He is for every union under the sun and feels that everything should be unionized for the greater good.

I think the UAW has really over stepped their bounds. And they need to start cleaning house.

they won't do it

bankruptcy is not an option with the Democrats. Some kind of superficial restructuring and punishment of the executives to please the masses, and then...business as usual. till they need more money....

Dave

What you say is true, they won't force the bankruptcy thing. The American people will now be supporting the UAW contract with its work banks, its gold plated health care programs, and guaranteed pensions, not by buying cars but by opening our wallets. The move to socialism is no longer incremental, it is an all out sprint and the consequences will not be pretty.

Amazingly, the GOP Senators seem to be holding the line. I can't believe it. They are demanding same cost per worker as foreign companies. Wow. Stay tuned.
