Gas tax proposal: 50 cents a gallon to save the earth.

You got that all figured out right. Higher taxes on anything hurts more than it helps. The government never realizes all the expected revenues from tax hikes and it usually results in people loosing jobs thus increasing people going onto the "dole" thus giving democrats a reason to increase yet another tax to pay for all the people they put on unemployment and wellfare. A vicious cylce that seriously needs to be broken.
I call it the trickle down taxation effect and it works like this all the time.
