Iran: When All Is Said & Done

Iran, when all is said and done

I hope you're not surprised the UN is doing nothing, the EU is appeasing, Russia and China are assisting, and the US is wavering?

The UN is basically dedicated to the destruction of Israel--this may be hyperbole, but only just barely.

The EU is dedicated to the notion that peace must be had at any price, just so long as they aren't the ones oppresed, enslaved, murdered, raped, or pillaged. That "icky" stuff is for other people (unless Bat Y'eor is correct, in which case citizens of the EU may be only a couple decades from being on the oppressed, enslaved, murdered, raped, and pillaged side of the ledger. I wonder if they'll still be for peace at any price?)

The regimes of Russia and China would sell their grandmothers and throw in their firstborn as a sweetener if it'd make a profit. I'm all for capitalism, but these are not responsible actors. China is not our friend (witness China's friends and enemies: NKorea, Iran, Venezuela vs Taiwan and Japan). Russia tried to overturn two democratic elections; empire is still on Putin's mind.

The US appears incapable of mustering a united response, and I'm not talking about Dems and Reps. The administration cannot maintain a message or a policy prescription.

The lack of political and moral will to do what needs to be done is disheartening.
