Who Will Buy GM?

If I were to hit a lottery today
I would be replacing both of our vehicles, and the brands that I would be looking at would be Honda, Acura, Nissan, Hyundai, Subaru, Volvo, Audi, Volkswagon, Porshe, or BMW. Some of those are American made, but in non-union states.
I would NOT buy a GM or Chrysler product, even though many of them are quite appealling. What good would the warrantees be? Why would I spend my money knowing that $1000 or so of every UAW Motors car I buy would be going to the campaign funds of the Democrats?
Of course, no Ford or Toyota corporation products either. Every Ford product my family has ever had was a lemon, and Kyle Busch drives for Toyota, 'nuff said.

Will the Republicans have the drive that Obama has? Will a Republican president and Republican congress rectify the unfortunate developments of Obama's presidency? Perhaps our trading partners and liberals will buy government motor vehicles.

I have a 2001 VW Jetta TDI.
186K miles on it and STILL getting 43 MPG.
I had to replace the turbo at 180K miles! ONly major repair and I drive it daily, about 90 miles r/t.
I refuse to support unions.

I just consider GM pretty much gone. Now they can make hybrides, electric, hydrogen, tuna cans, soda cans, little cars. Or whatever the king tells them to. I am not too sure about Chrysler. I considered them buried weeks ago.
I have to say, I still like the Black Escalades. Nice car.

It's a shame...I like the Enclave, but prob won't buy it now...too bad. Think I'll stick with a company that didn't take taxpayer bailout money...like a Lincoln...an MRX SUV,maybe...
Don't like tuna cans on the freeway...;)good luck GM...

I am not a huge Ford fan, but I may look at them. At least they took no money and actually stood up to the administration and the auto task force and car czars!
I did read that Ford is upping their production about 10% next quarter. That is a good sign.
But with GM and Chrysler, if the people don't want to buy cars, how are they going to prosper? Of course no one on the auto task force can say. Maybe the czar can shed light on this.

GM will go the way of the Soviet Zil, into history as an anachronism which has far outlived its usefulness.

I was reading an article on the exit strategy of GM. According to this article, it should be around 2010. Sure! Anyway, they are going to have a new IPO and the stock will sell, according to this article. Bet the bond holders won't be knocking themselves out to get there.

Well, I would hope they could get out from under the government control quickly...guess we'll have to see...
I'm sure many are skeptical of that happening, as you are...
