Christianity & Immigration Reform
People like Sanity102, TheAhncoress, James H. of opinionatedcatholic, Cindy of the Pink Flamingo, and Sandra Wise covered themselves with glory in the fight for immigration reform that was decent, humane, and, well, Christian.

Steve,
some very interesting things are happening...I think Hil offended a whole bunch of military (remember Kerry had to drop his ambition after his joke about the military)...and todays poll shows McCain coming on strong.
Mmmmm...I have come to appreciate McCain but I still think he will be another Dole.
I am leaning toward Rudy; I just wish he'd pick Palin to run with him.

Rudy/Sarah, Yeah!
I'm leaning toward Rudy. The odd thing is that I like Rudy, McCain, Huckabee (ain't gonna get it), and even Romney (although he's in 4th place). Thompson is too old (my age, yikes), too tired, and too interested in being President for the sake of being President. I believe Rudy can possibly beat Hillary. McCain would give her a good run. I keep writing about the Huckabee campaign, and his strongest supporters are his worst enemies. America is a diverse, pluralistic country. It's not an extension of some evangelical mega-church.

I am promoting Sarah with people who are backing Rudy. He has strong support in PA and would help our congressional candidates, including my buddies Melissa Hart and Diana Irey. Palin would be a major, major plus for Rudy. The way she's handled her son's courageous enlistment in the Army makes me even prouder of her and her husband. What a family. The youngest child -- Piper -- looks like Elizabeth Taylor at 12. Beautiful child.

Picking On
Never mind the stuff on the blogs, you should hear what gets said with only white people in the room, "ship em' all back" and hell I've seen certain people say it to Hispanic people face to face. Usually the person they pick on is a thin spanish women...wonder why?

Women & Minorities Needed
I used Sanity's term "absolutists" a couple of times on my blog. It was almost as much fun as a trip to Hawaii. :-)
One thing that's critical is for the Republican Party to get more minority candidates and more females. I've been targeting certain females -- Sarah of course, but also Heather Wilson, Diana Irey, and Melissa Hart (4th Cong. District, PA) as individuals who deserve Internet-driven, national support.
I don't agree with Hawaii Governor Lingle on this and that, but she has done a great job rebuilding the Republican Party in her state. Much the same is true in Connecticut, whose female governor is one of the best-kept secrets in politics.
I hope some of the people who are now blogging -- Christopher being one and Matt of senseinpolitics -- will be the candidates of tomorrow.

How odd, "thin, Hispanic women"?...maybe a thick Hispanic man would hand his White butt to him, eh?
The sad part about all of this is that nothing has been gained. The 12 million is NOT going to be sent home and the Democratic Congress with a Dem president WILL give illegals REAL amnesty.

Exciting Times
Sanity: on amnesty and the Democratic Congress, you are correct. For the far-right, "victory" seems to look a lot like suicide. I gave a ringing endorsement to Rudy Giuliani today -- and an even more ringing one to Sarah Heath Palin. I'm getting a little tired of fighting with the absolutist evangelicals, although I admit they're fun to beat up. The big issue they're pushing now is a constitutional amendment (yeah, sure, right) to bash gay people. Of course, since the Republicans are going to lose as many as 7 Senatorial seats, it will be a little hard to pass a piece of constitutional homophobia.
I will wear red every Friday.
It's important for the American people to know that there will be an air-war with Iran, probably before Christmas. It will not be pretty, but it will be necessary. One great thing about GWB is that he doesn't believe other countries have the right to behave like lunatics at our expense.
Maybe if we're lucky, we'll find out what the Israelis bombed in Syria -- nuclear materials perhaps?

Good for you Steve
I won't endorce Rudy...as a pro-lifer, it was a very difficult choice on my part to decide to vote for him...a choice I think others need to make for themselves.
I believe that most people will vote for Rudy because:
1- The pro-lifers: as Sista Toldya and the Anchoress said...before the WOT, the pro-life issue was the deal breaker...now the WOT trumps everything.
2- The pro-military has seen how Democrats treat the troops--they will vote for a Commander in Chief that will at least respect them.
3- The Main stream Ruplicans, Independents, and Moderate Democrats are truly offended by the racist and intolerant extremes that has kidnapped the only party that is serious about the war.
4- The illegal immigration issue tanked both Hunter and Huckerbee. No one seems particularly thrilled with Romney and Fred couldn't even hold his own. In other words, there's no one left.
