Standing in Line

I think that there is nothing worse than struggling to pay bills and do without and then see someone with their big new car and their designer pocketbook pay with their food stamps or bring out their medicaid card. I worked in a large inner city hospital and I watched patients come in dressed to the nines. Lots of gold aroudn their neck, talking or texting on their cell phones and stand up at the window getting their free voucher for transportation to and from their doctor visit. I also watched as little old men and woman slowly walked up the subway steps to walk to their appointments. I cringed each time I saw this. What a system. Unfortunately, sometimes it is hard being responsible. It is hard watching the takers get the perks knowing that your hard earned money is paying for them. I am affraid that we will see more and more of this and less and less people like you.
