Obama and Racism in America

I must respectfully disagree

Not on the grounds of racism against African-Americans, but on the grounds of the reverse racism, that such discussions as the 2001 audio of Obama reveals and encourages.

Pundits generally live in over-focused glass houses and are not connected to the rest of the world. However, their point should be noted for a celebration in this sense: Racism and "you subjected me to Bush" abuse by people who need something to yell at someone else over, liberals, has lost it's luster, it's weight. Honestly I see an upcoming identity crisis when people lose their 150 year old gripe or their 8 year old one (not that they acted like 8 year olds :p).

In any event, you are absolutely correct about the pundits, but, racism isn't dead so long as anyone of any race uses those identifications, even the "darnkess" of African-Americans as used amongst themselves, as any sort of baiting in bullydom or other suggestion of the difference as a negative to cast dispersions about.

We can only hope that the reverse-racists learn their lesson here, however, I submit Howard Sterns Harlem interviews for consideration of that possibility: http://boomp3.com/listen/c1hbq1ljl_8/stern-2008-10-01cf

Obviously I hope and pray but have my doubts, revenge is an onerous bedfellow.

Not I...

A wonderful column...insight, reasoned, and very well executed.
