Shall Romney and Jefferson Meet In Hell?

Religous Intolerance WAKE UP AMERICA
Touché Wordsmith! It amazes me how intolerant these supposed 'Christians' are in defining what Mormons believe or who is worthy of being a called Christian and who is not. I thought religious tolerance was the hallmark of why our early American colonists sacrificed so much to come to America. I find some of these people not only ignorant and intolerant, but better categorized as insecure in their own beliefs.
One also has to wonder what members of a religious minority must do before they merit acceptance, by some, as fully equal American Christian citizens. Anti-Catholicism and anti-Semitism, though not wholly extinct in the United States, have been largely embarrassed into public silence. What, now, of anti-Mormonism? Will Mitt Romney be judged on the basis of his personal character, ability, and opinions? Or will he be summarily dismissed as religiously unworthy and un-American?

Is Jefferson in Hell
Jesus said , "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life no one comes to the Father but by Me" As a Christian I believe in the Diety of Jesus Christ, and since he made this claim I must believe it is true, therefore Jefferson is in hell unless he had a change of heart before he died, and so too will Romney be in hell unless he receives Christ as his Savior and the true God.

No Religious Test Is Required
The Constitution prohibits the use of any religious test as a requisite for holding office in the United States. Yet, many voters use religion as their primary, if not their sole measure of candidates' worthiness for office. The real test should be applied to these very voters, relative to their ability to make make sound, sensible decisions in general, and in matters of public policy in particular.
Religion is, by its nature and structure of belief and emotionality, an irrational and unreasonable social system designed to answer those questions that could and can not be answered through reason and rationality of the intellect, with the primary, if not sole question being, "What happens to us when we die?"
We must get past ancient, largely unevolved religion, if the culture of humanity is to survive.

Hell is a choice
In the end, God is the judge as to who goes to Heaven or Hell. Not us. Chances are, though, if one rejects the One True Living God in this lifetime, one will spend eternity separated from God's love and grace, i.e., in Hell. God does not force us to love Him, obey Him, or follow Him. If you don't want Him, you don't want to be part of His Kingdom, you don't have to be. It's your choice. However, with choices come consequences(both intended and unintended). So, in that sense, going to hell is a matter of individual choice. You damn yourself to Hell. Your response to God's call to obey Him is "My will be done, not yours." His response is, "Amen." (So be it.)

what Jesus said
Hello All;
In the third chapter of John Jesus had an interview with a prominent leader in the Jewish community. His name was Nicodemus, Who by the way, came to interview Jesus at night.
I think the way that interview went is very important and it should be a lesson for believers.
Jesus did not discus the complexities of being sent by God or the miracles He preformed, knew Nicodemus was looking for some answers so He got to the point.
"Jesus answered, ""I am telling you the truth: no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again.""
Listen if you are a non believer in Jesus as savior it is important for you to understand eventhough there is a lot of bickering about religion the bottom line is that Jesus came to earth in a bodily form for one reason.
TO DIE FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD. That means everyone from the self rightous southern baptist to the junky that cant get 24 hours clean.
Because they have one thing in commin. they are both sinners. I know it can be hard but dont let the hypocrisy of others cloud you from the point of Jesus. He loves everyone the way they are and He died to pay everones sin dept, and becoming a believer in Jesus, being born again is the only way into Gods Heaven.

As an LDS Christian I agree completely with the above statement.
jackyeowe also writes:

He does receive Christ as his Savior and the true God. As a LDS Christian, he was certainly taught the necessity of such from his childhood.

I also agree with what Oscar Blennia writes.
I would add that everyone will get a chance to hear and accept Christ's Gospel. God being no respecter of persons, one will not be condemned for not hearing of His atoning sacrifice in this life.

A critical distinction...
...must be made between the political debate over the leadership of our country, and any theological debate over the truth or fallacy of any faith or comparison thereof. While neither are insignificant, they traverse different considerations. Mormonism is neither Christianity nor another version/flavor of Christianity. But the differences are a theological debate separate from the political issue of the choices before us for president. Those considerations deal with public policy and political strategy, which may be informed by theology, but not exclusively so. I have radical disagreements with Mormonism on a theological plane, but will vote for Romney in a heartbeat over any Democrat and most of the Republican candidates put forth to date. The points Wayne Grudem makes in his Townhall article are quite telling, and should guide rational discourse and decision making in this arena. Read and consider them carefully before criticizing them.

If Romney has received the Jesus, who according to LDS is the 1/2 brother of satan, the Jesus who will share His kingdom with men who have earned godhood, then Romney has received the wrong Jesus. The true Jesus is equal to the Father aand the Spirit and has no brothers named satan, Satan is not equal to and one with the Father Son and Spirit, he was created, and will be destroyed when God fulfills His plan. As for those who receive the true Jesus as savior, we will spend eternity worshiping Him, we will not be worshipped as gods. If you worship the God of Scripture, then heaven will be your final resting place, if you worship the Jesus of the LDS you have a big bad surprise coming.

ALL Religions Are Weird Cults
And most of their members are generally pretty weird, too...like those REALLY weird evangelical Christians and jihadist Muslims. They tend to be a bunch of moralistic myrmidons who are too mindless to comprehend that the only sin; the only immoral act is one that causes demonstrable loss or harm to another through force or fraud.

What is the point????
We are not electing a Pastor of our church, we are hopefully electing/selecting a decent person who will work to implement our public policy values.
My issue with Mitt Romney is one of skeptism of his recent adoption of all the major position I consider important and whether he is truly electable.
With that said, the issue of being seperated from God (Hell)or being with God(Heaven) is a judgement that God will ultimatley make and we as a Christ Followers do not know what that judgement will be for any given person.
What we do know is acording to Orthodox Christian doctrine there is only ONE unforgivable sin; and that is knowing the truth and rejecting it (i.e. blasphemy of the Holy Spirit). Reiteratig - only God can determine who has committed that particular sin.

From a response of mine to last
thursday's article in the American Spectator. It seems appropriate here...
It is amazingly offensive to think that a great many people who profess to believe in and follow Jesus Christ have such an incredibly arrogant and judgmental view towards Mormons and others who don't hold exactly the same views as they do. When presented with this, most Christians I have talked to simply say, "you Mormons think everyone else is going to hell too." And this brings up the second very telling comment.
"We see this as an opportunity for us to educate people on what Mormons really believe." I have nearly snorted milk through my nose more than once while reading articles and comments written by Christians about what Mormons believe. Many statements are outlandish and completely false, and others are twisted ideas that result in the same thing: a misrepresentation about Mormon doctrine.

Using the former issue as a point of discussion let me explain. Although most Christians may believe that Mormons, and literally countless billions, will be consigned to eternal misery because they do not perform the act of learning about Jesus and accepting him as their savior, Mormons believe that God truly is all-powerful and all-loving and is certainly able to get all his children to the final destination to which they belong, even if they did not have a fair chance during their mortal life to learn about the atonement of Jesus Christ or apply it in their life. This includes the billions who have been and will be born in lands where Christ is unknown; it includes children who die before having a chance to mature; it includes even those who know about Christ's atonement already but may be lacking some important understanding and are kept from it by conditions outside their control.
In other words, although most Christians believe Mormons are headed for eternal misery, Mormon's believe that most Christians are good people and are headed for eternal happiness because they love truth and goodness and accept it whenever it is clearly presented to them.

Dear Doc Steech,
Thanks again for you great comment!
Your example of JFK teaches us all an important history lesson about religious tolerance. Perhaps Mitt Romney shall become the next U.S. President, thus proving once more that it is possible for tolerance to win in the end.
