I know I've said it before but it can never be said often enough when it involves those of us who were "in country".

Thank you for sharing your experience. I know only too well the words do not come easy.

My service was from 1966 - 1968 and I was attached to Naval Support Activity Danang. Joined the Navy at 17 knowing like you that I would be drafted. In fact I received my draft notice while in bootcamp at USNTC San Diego. The Navy taught me how to be an electrician but 88 of us out of a class of 89 received orders for the Nam. Our training at Camp Pendelton taught me a whole different job. The Marines had little use for electricians...LOL.
