Fantastic blog, Apollo! Your insight was remarkable. I've been a bit melancholy with each day approaching that will mark the end of President Bush's tenure as Commander-in-Chief.

I thought your comparison of the "right man at the right time" was great. So many times since 9/11 I've thanked the Lord outloud for having GWB in office on that fateful day, our generation's "day that will live in infamy." Just like the passengers on Flight 1549 who benefitted from Sully's experience, whether people liked him or not, Americans, overall, were the beneficiary of George W. Bush being the occupant of the Oval Office on 09/11/01.

Pres. Bush's ability to put OUR needs as a nation before HIS needs for a legacy is what saved our butts.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, it gave me something to really think about.

You said it sooo well. I also note that in neither incident did the people of NYC look to the government as a 'first-responder'.

May God continue to bless President Bush. I believe he did his best for US.
