Tax and Spend Idiots...I mean liberals.

First, the assertion that raising taxes never has increased tax revenue (the corrollary to the myth that lowering taxes always increases revenue) is false. Look up actual records of total tax revenue before and after.

Second, the federal govt. can and should use any increase in revenue to reduce the deficit! You know, finally pay for what it is spending. Republicans have shown in recent years that they can spend like there's no tomorrow and don't seem to care about passing on the debt to future generations.

And when the govt. is finally in the black again, pay down the national debt. Free us from owing our Chinese competitors.

If I actually believed our Gov't was capable of such responsible spending as you have outlined, I would reconsider my stance on a tax increase.

But before I could do that, I would need to see the Gov't reduce spending on worthless programs as a show of good faith.

I cannot fathom sending MORE money to the gov't considering how they are currently utilizing the money they are taking now.
