I haven't read your article for I am a follower of Ayn Rand, though Atlas Shrugged is not in my library. Where I came to understand the role of the producer is from Ayn Rand's "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal."

Alan Greenspan also wrote a few articles, apparently as an objectivist, that are found in that Ayn Rand volume. You'd probably enjoy it.
