Another Bump In The Road

Having been a member of CC from the beginning, I have seen it go through its birth pains, only to emerge greater and stronger than any of us could have imagined.

Certainly we've had our detractors (and still do). These are people who have came, not liked us for who we are and how we choose to operate, and have left.

We are not an echo chamber, which is one of the reasons I like it there so much. I am challenged, encouraged, befriended, and yes, even teased at times for what I believe. But we're adults and can handle a little flak now and then. Those who prefer to take potshots from the sidelines like to act like they can handle such things as well, but continously demonstrate their inability to do so by trying to poke a stick in our eye when they would do much better to just move on with their lives.

Thank you Dave, for continuing to provide us with this very unique and valuable place to call our on-line home. Our members will continue to make the board an envy to other forums which boast even greater membership numbers. Because it isn't quantity that makes CC great, but the quality of its membership.

I consider it an honor to be a part of this community!

I'm a busy mom of two, so I regret not being able to be as active a participant as I used to be, but Covert Conservatives is one of the best places on the 'net to be if you are Conservative. Even if you are not full-blown Conservative, as long as you treat others and their viewpoints with respect, people treat you with respect...and so Covert Conservatives will always be home to me.

The viewpoints, ages, locations of the members are so diverse but it always feels like family. Many there have forged real-life friendships and regular meet-ups are starting to take place. New members are always welcomed and new members with great senses of humor will really enjoy this forum.

Overall, it is a place to discuss current issues, but it's done so in a setting where you argue over issues in the main forum...and then venture on over to 'The Lighter Side' to have a virtual beer and laugh afterwards. I believe this is the reason for the forum's success. It keeps in mind that while issues are important, at the end of it all, laughs are needed to prevent everyone from becoming cold, bitter, and impersonal as politics can eventually groom people to be. Covert Conservatives is politics with a heart - and that's why Covert Conservatives is a rarity amongst political forums. It's no wonder the increased traffic has caused the site to expand.
