You read my mind, didn't you? I have been looking into this myself as I was one who began to wonder what the heck happened between the AoC and the Constitution.
I fully recognize that the U.S. Constitution is not about our individual liberty, that was a given via the DOI. I have also understood that the Constitution was not only a framework for the national government, but indeed it was about what this central power could NOT DO!! In addition I recognize that the national government is to be held accountable by the several States. Gee, wouldn't that be novel.
Outstanding read, Glenn. This is superb and gives yours truly much on which to munge. I am grateful!

Thank you for your support. I have, for the past two years, made a study of our nation, not only from interest, but from a perception that it will become necessary.
I have a lot to learn, and enjoy the anticipation of it.

Given your study, etc have you considered a book on the subject? You have a way of stating things in language that even someone like me can understand. I am not putting myself down, yet I recognize I am not a scholar -- I am a 'regular' citizen.

In all honesty, I think I still need to read a few more before I could write one of any consequence. I am truly honored, though, that you believe I moght be able to.
I have just finished "The Wisdom of John and Abigail Adams", a smallish book of some of their quotes. Those two were soul mates and inspired each other to constantly improve.
Oh, there is a new blogger here named Joseph O'Connell. He writes like Adams or even Jefferson.

Well worth reading.

Well I would not say anything I did not believe. You are very talented and one thing we seem to be missing are voices that are clear, unambiguous and persuasive outside the intellectual elite set.
Also, thanx for the tip on the blogger. I will check that out!

Great Lesson!
Perfect length, well written, informative and concise.
Your research and efforts are appreciated. Most Americans (including me) are missing accurate subject information. And as such, can be merrily misled by the unscrupulous.
These types of posts provide the very foundation of knowledge needed for informed political debate and decision.
Thanks and please keep em coming!

Very nice post. Read it before, but didn't comment until now. As you know, this is a favorite topic of mine as well, so nice to read some debunking of things "everyone knows".

Thanks my friend. I love learning about the USA. And there is a LOT to learn.
I just got all of the Geneva Conventions and the 2 protocols. Lots of reading to do.
Thanks for the visit.
