They are once again taking a hard look at McCain/Feingold, for example, and it looks like they're poised to perhaps completely throw it out (over the case about the "Hillary" movie, brought by the ACLJ - American Center for Law and Justice).

The feds have no power to dictate educational criteria to school boards; that's a local/state issue under federalism. Of course, because of the current system of federal funding and NCLB, the feds have many fingers in the school pie. But legislation like this is sure to be challenged in court, and the current climate isn't very friendly to federal overreach.

One of my boys is dyslexic. He would just as soon stand at the door with his SKS and tell them to shove it.
I especially like the disadvantaged group of those who are in danger of not graduating.
Do you know how the schools can mess with the numbers on that?
They can pretty much declare anyone with a below B grade in danger of not graduating.

And the SCOTUS, in the early '70's already ruled that a student's Constitutional rights do not end at the door of the school building. So, this law would not only violate the Constitution on various levels, it would break the law.

Send them to school wearing a "SAVE OUR REPUBLIC!" kid's t-shirt. We haven't had an opportunity to test one out on a school yet, but I have a feeling there are many public schools that would simply FREAK if a child walked in wearing such a message of freedom and resistance.
