I think we've got too many...
...$$ going out and not enough coming in. Bad trade deals over the last 2 decades. As a result our citizens must resort to "whatever" to make a buck. Its come down to ponzi schemes and con games. We need solid manufacturing/production jobs desperately. As for the Big 3, well they need to go into some form of bankruptcy, pick up their operations and move, lock, stock and barrel to right-to-work states where they can reduce their overhead. We can get through this. It'd also help to drill and produce our own domestic oil. Stop that $700 billion a year from hemorrhaging out. Let it fold back into our own economy. We can work our way through this if our leaders make the right decisions. I have little confidence in that happening, however. Good post Edge. DD

What gets me
in this whole economic bailout situation is that the very people who caused so much of it are the same ones casting blame on everybody else and engineering the "fix". Even with the big3, the government played a big part in their collapse. First of all Gov't has been in bed with the union for years. Gov't meddled in the industry instituting "cafe" standards, telling the industry what to build, refusing to access our own energy resources, demanding sub prime loans to people who couldn't afford them and essentially causing the lending institutions to collapse. I just feel sick to my stomach when Barney Franks, Chris Dodd, Paulson, Bernake and the rest of the guilty as sin far left rascalls point, yell and blame everybody but themselves. What hypocrites !! There's plenty of blame to go around, most of it lays in the lap of Government.
Great post DD.

Madoff et al
Rush today had a long explanation of Madoff and other characters who used money which was not even real to take from investors and keep the Ponzi scheme going ala SS. One thing I have done is to email Senator Mitch, Prez Bush not , not to bail out Detroit. Perhaps a huge swell on public complaints could upset the socialist giveaways to keep the faux Messiah flying high. Enough of this. Ca. , where I live, is in bankruptcy and the public keeps electing the dopes who got us this way. What happened to the old fashioned idea that more money in our pockets could keep the capitalistic system flying high? Gone with the Obama wind.
