What makes Obama Tick? Now we know.

I will take pragmatic over idealist

because this guy's background is hard-core left. (BTW, it is damn hard to type on your site since it is slow as molasses - maybe Townhall's fault, but mostly I can't see what I'm typing it's so slow, WTF?)

You take Bill Clinton (please!). Same thing, if you can get him to push your ideas as something new, for his legacy!, like welfare reform, he does not really care that it is a conservative thing. In the end, everytone is better off. Now, you've got to fight him first, then maybe send him some type of subliminal messages from his blackberry ("Free Market", "Guns procure our freedom", "Global Warming is crap", etc.).

You've got to block every left-wing Commie thing that comes from his office first, then cajole him into taking the lead on some conservative ideas and claiming them - they are not patented, they are natural laws, so ......

With all that, I don't know if this guy is a pragmatist or not. We'd be better off if so, in my opinion.

See you in D T W

You need a history lesson bud.

Sorry the site is slow. Wahh wahh, not my fault and if you can't remember what you have typed, oh well. LOL!

Now history lesson time. Bill Clinton only went with "Welfare Reform" in August 1996 because his advisor at the time (Dick Morris of Fox News) said "Mr. President: You don't sign this bill and YOU ARE TOAST!" So once again, to support the INFORMER's thesis, Bill Clinton was the ultimate pragmatist just like Obama.

I am not saying that pragmatic leaders don't get things done in Washington. They certainly do get things done. But they only tackle the EASY STUFF because pragmatists are TRULY COWARDS and cowards never tackle difficult things. It is the principled leaders or the idealists as you derogatorily refer to them, who tackle the hard challenges and get things done. Hard challenges would inclued going after terrorists in foreign countries and dealing with the troop casualities which would inevitably result from such actions.

Pragmatists will cower in fear everytime while principled leaders will stand up and fight!
