King Coal, King Makers and King Filth

Coal

The lignite coal of western North Dakota is strip mined--no mountains--and when a seam is exhausted, the owners are required to return the site to its previous condition.

ND lignite is low sulpher content coal, and while not as efficient (in terms of BTUs) as the anthracite found in Appalachia, it is cleaner burning, and safer and easier to access.

Additionally, scrubbers are required on coal fired plants. These scrubbers (allegedly) clean the emmissions so as to comply with EPA regulations.

Scrubbers

I know about scrubbers mgraves. I know about black gritty oily coal dust on furniture and clothing in homes as much as 10 miles from power plants using "scrubbers" also. Is there a possibility that this same coal dust stops at a human beings lips? The coal barons and governments tell us so.

As for North Dakota coal I do indeed wish the Coal Kings would move there in mass because they are blowing the tops off mountains and destroying streams, creeks, rivers and forest in West Virginia as I type this.

Thank you for reading and responding to my post. I really did not mean to be so abrupt with you so please forgive. I grew up with coal you see and have seen first hand the damage and the costs. There are much much cleaner and better ways of providing the power we need if we as a people would just force the governments to do this. Diane Davis whose site I offer you is a real advocate of environmentally clean methods that are not just proposed but actually operating around the globe; you might want to check her site for some references. http://greensboropeerpressure.blogspot.com/ Again, thank you for stopping by.
