Your opinion

And it is his and his partner's opinion that they can continue parenting sucessfully. Unlike China, America is still free(for how long, I don't know).

Well said, Miguel.

It is/was his and his partners choice to have a baby.

My opinion isn't changed in the least however. Just because people are free to make their own choices, doesn't necessarily mean it is the correct choice.

Actions have consequences, and my personal feeling is that having a child at age 66 probably isn't in the best interest of the child.

It's the classic...

Just because you can doesn't necessarily mean you should. Yes it may be selfish of Nick to be fathering a child this late in his life but just look at what she missed out on:

Maybe he needed to “settle down” before he decided to start a family!

It's unlikely

...that he was sober when she was born.

On the plus side

The kid has a good nest egg. I mean, it's not like this is a POOR 68-year-old father.

Would you rather have..

a "nest egg", or your father alive to walk you down the aisle?

That last one is a zinger. I tend to agree with JDJ and MadDad. SC has a point as well.

My dad was poor

and he died young, so from my point of view, at least it would have been nice to inherit.
