A Broken Glass Republican

I have to say

that I, obviously, don't agree with you. But I always urge people to vote their conscience after thoroughly thinking things through, so if that's your decision, so be it.

Until I somehow get the power to make other people vote how I think they should!

Hmmmm..... any idea how I can make that happen? Oh, well, I guess I'll have to find some evil scientific genius to help me out. But you wait!

BTW, I didn't think the Clinton years were as bad as some people seem to think, once the 1994 mid-terms were over and the GOP took Congress back. He was pretty much blocked from most of his nonsense, and was actually forced to do some things like welfare reform, etc. Same thing will happen again if a Dem wins the WH. The danger in my mind is Giuliani -- a lib flying under a false flag -- in the WH with a GOP Congress that lets him get away with murder.

If you think Bush is a lame Prez, just wait for President Baldy! He makes Bush look like Reagan reincarnated.

Ah, but my post

was not an endorsement for Rudy to win the nomination. I was very clear about that. I even stated my current choice, Thompson.

What I am endorsing is that on Election Day we go and vote for the one of the two candidates who will occupy the White House who most agrees with us on as many positions as possible.

In a match up between Rudy and Hillary, clearly I will have more things in common with Rudy than Hillary. In that situation, my choice is clear. Of those two, Rudy is the only one with a background in cutting taxes and cutting spending.

For as I stated, I will not not vote and I will never again vote third party.

Yes,

But that's my point about our difference.

I won't vote for Giuliani even if his opponent is the Devil himself.

Enjoyed the post

I enjoyed the post quite a bit, especially the line about Perot. You hit the nail on the head, and, although you should always vote for the candidate and not the party, the candidate has to be considered with the party line in sight. For example, even if you don't personally like Rudy, it is reassuring to see that you at least understand that Rudy is closer to your Republican ideals than, say, Hillary. A vote for a right-leaning third party candidate is a vote for the Dems.

LT,

Send me an email at tinsldr2@yahoo.com I have some stuff from here you might like and that i am to lazy to add to my blog.

I only go over to liberty side of post to go to big PX once in awhile and sometimes the Div HQ there.

We build another Div HQ building on the Victory side of post. Down the road from Al-faw palace but before you get to the tunnel that takes you to stryker and BIAP.

last deployment, I had a retrans team up on the Signal Hill right behind the PX and I visited them about once a month. I was stationed at Taji at the time.

keep up the good work and the great posts.

I'm doing some housekeeping, and your blog hasn't been active for a long time, so at this point I'm taking it off my Blog Roll.

If you get active again, let me know and I'll put it back up.

Broken Glass Republican

It's hard to find the best posts on the Internet, but I'm glad I was led to yours by Townhall Magazine. Voting for a Republican - regardless of the candidate - is one of the bones of contention on the political thread I communicate with on a daily basis. Most of us feel as you do, but we have yet to convince a few renegades.

Sometimes a visual image does wonders when you want to prove a point, and the image of a Republican crawling on broken glass to get to the polls does the job nicely. On our blog, Two sisters from the Right (http://www.2sistersfromtheright.com) we often promise to crawl to the polls if we have to, but we never thought of adding the broken glass to drive home the point. We will be quoting you on Two Sisters as part of our continuing effort to convince people that a Republican in the White House in January 2009 is essential, because the alternative - Obama or Clinton - is unthinkable.

My sis and I will be back to visit. Post often!! We can't have too many soldiers in this battle.
