GOP FOLLIES, PART 2

How About the McCain Feingold?

Why did you not discuss the "Bi-artisan Campaign
Reform Act of 2002"? This law defeated both McCain and Duncan. Authored by none other than John McCain, the critically flawed candidate, this law more than any other factor wrecked the administration of the RNC. Duncan was expected to live with that monstrous deconstruction of the First Amendment as well as the laws imposed by the FEC.

To add insult to injury. McCain precluded Duncan, the RNC chairman, from opting out of the federal campaign funding program. McCain made a bargain with Obama to accept the public financing and be restricted in fund raising. When Obama failed to honor his word and opted out, Duncan was left with the FEC clutching his throat. Add to that the fact that most of us on thgsi blog were so traumartized by the mysterious rise of John McCain that we were late in committing to help Duncan.

Now, we hear this drumk beat for a Chairman X.

Were you aware that Duncan was saddled with the preparation of a lawsuit to challenge the BCRA at the same time that he was supposed to win an election with his hand ties behind him by the FEC?

Duncan is a fantastic lawyer who knows the BCRA inside out. Can you assure us that Chairman X will have the expertise to get this lawqsuit into the courtroom and fight the bloody, thankless fight to keep it there?

I do not know Duncan personally, but I have witnessed this scenario many times. Firing the command pilot at 35,000 feet, when only he can land the plane, is insanity.
