Congratulations Bristol Palin

You are encouraging teens to have more babies? You are crazy. Who is going to raise them?

Instead of lessons learned you are furthering something that we know is harmful to her.

Yes, she had a teenage indiscretion. But PLZZZZ don congratulate her.

I too wish to congratulate Bristol Palin. This should be a happy time regardless of what other challenges may be on her plate of life. Everything isn't simple and easy in your 20's, 30's, 40's, or beyond either. "Ehh, but she's not married!!" And over 50% of Americans are divorced. I guess waiting didn't make anything work out any better for them.

The important thing is that the baby be born in a loving, nurturing home. Jon, stop criticizing her because she doesn't fit into what you view as the social norm. People used to get married and have children at 15 years of age. That was the norm. Spinsters were 20 years old. You stay in your world and keep your opinions out of the world of others. It is called the freedom to make your own choices, live your own life, and not have people sitting around passing judgment on you as if they had all the answers.

Though it was a long time ago -- The feelings adolescents develop are natural and completely normal -- Yes, it would be ideal if they were manifested within the bonds of matrimony -- This newborn will be welcomed, loved and cared for -- Nothing is more important than that --

This is not the most ideal situation, but overall Bristol seems like a good kid. Kids have sex. I started at the same age as her...Things happen.

But right now there is so far a healthy baby on his or her way into a loving family that can help adequately provide for it.

Congratulations on the addition to the family. No matter what the situation, healthy babies are miracles and that is the important thing here.


Oh and I have a child out of wedlock, though I had him at 24. My parents were upset at first but the next day realized that a healthy well cared for baby was the important thing and he most certainly is! So Joe...do I not deserve congratulations on my son just because he as not born into the "perfect" family arrangement?
