H.R. 45, Assault on the Constitution

Hr45 gotcher dander up,

didn't it? This won't be the only assault on the constitution. I think there'll be a lot of dander raising situations coming up in this administration. They'll totally dismantle it if we let them. Old liver lips Obama doesn't like the constitution any better than he likes unborn babies. And we all know how he feels about them. Well, the only guns I own are my caulking guns. (I'm hell on wheels with them). Guess I'd better get ready to have those confiscated too. I'll fight 'em for 'em and I'll fight 'em for yours too. I'm ready to storm DC. They better watch out; I'm one scary Gramma.

Seriously........Good Post. Makes ya madder than he**.

Garnet

I'll pass this information around hun.

I'm going to apply for my carrying permit first thing Monday morning.

In the immortal words of The Doors "The time to hesitate is through."

Right Bobbie, my damnder is up

The gun issue is one of the bellweather issues that define lib and consertative differences. The left has instituted the strictest gun laws in the country in Washington, DC, Chicago, and Los Angeles. You'd think that when that didn't work in those high crime cities, someone would investigate why. Instead, they just try to expand those worthless laws to the rest of the country. Little or no mention of criminals in the bill, only hoops for the honest citizen to jump through - and doing their best to ignore the Supreme Court's decision and approach it via an unrealistic path - interstate commerce.
Damn right I'm pi$$ed.

Chicago won't quit...

trying to find some loophole out of the Supreme Court's decision to own a firearm, since Chicago was defeated after they passed that ridiculous law. Obama was for the law when Chicago passed it, then applauded the SC's decision to say it was unconstitutional. Yeah, gee, he took two sides of an issue. It really happened. We get to see how he comes down on this issue. I'm glad Rush and the Chicago Machine brought this back to the national convo. He'll have to take a position.

Good for you, A. Sweetie

Unfortunately, there is a downside to a CCW, that is that you will be on record of being a gun user, if not a gun owner. And as a CCW holder for many years myself, we will be at the top of the list if confiscation ever happens. This issue is one that I'll fight tooth and nail over and I'm compiling a list of gun-owning friends to whom I'll be sending an alert on HR45.

In the meantime, as a young mom in Pittsburg, I'd say that you are wise in taking responsibility for your (and your son's) safety. If you don't already have a handgun, choose it wisely, treat it with respect, and practice, practice, practice. And, if God forbid, the need to use it ever arises, use it. Good Luck.

control

they'll have the civilian corps to help with the registration no doubt....brownshirts coming to your neighborhood.

GREAT post,I seriously doubt that Bobby Rush has bothered to read the 2nd amendment, along with anything else in the Constitution. I have a simple, effective change in the eligibility requirements for holding elected office. Candidate MUST show familiarity with, and be conversant in,the ACTUAL meaning of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights,AND ALL of the Federalist Papers. Failure to meet this requirement shall result in disqualification of said aspirant until such time as he/she demonstrates the requisite knowledge.

NRA fights on

Though a life member of the NRA and never shot a gun, this new bill is explained too in their latest magazine. The fact that Dems never seem to get it on the 2nd Amendment always ups the membership of the NRA. I have never owned a gun. But, this along with other attacks makes me at 70 want to be protected from the socialist pacifists that have taken over the 2 Branches of the Govt. with the 3rd waiting in the wings as soon as 3-4 justices retire or expire! Take a look at my newest blog gar, it will go along with your distrust of these fearmongers.

The roaches are coming out of the

wood work. The fight is on...Thanks Garnet

I am sure Rush can't find the 2nd Amendment.

The last time I saw him on tv, he was being his usual racist self. Sorry, but he is. For some unknown reason, I was out and about and was looking at his website. Here is the headline smack in the middle.

"U.S. Rep. Rush Votes ‘Yes’ to ‘Stimulus Package’Congressman Insists That Follow Thru Must Ensure That Poor And Unemployed Benefit From Stimulus Package with Jobs, Health Care And Opportunity To Pick Themselves Up"

Ugh!

Tell me you're jokin', Jesse

Obama not consistent? Getouttahere! Yeah, now that he's the prez, he can't sidestep issues any more. He'll be forced to take a position by signing or vetoing a bill and that can be used against him in 2012.

Right Dave

We'll have to rename his "brownshirts" to "sh*tshirts." I wonder just how serious he is on that issue? What I mean is, I wonder how much resistance he is willing to go against for his brownshirt army?

Great idea, Clyde

But it'll have to wait for our next conservative congress and president - for the dems, it would be like holy water on a vampire.

Commendable rackoons, good for you

Obviously you understand the importance of standing up for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The 2nd amendment is under assult (so is the first) by those who think that they can construct a better country - what egotistical arrogance. And you're right, it will swell the ranks of the NRA, 2nd Amendment Foundation, and Gun Owners of America, etc. and rightfully so.

They are, Cindy

And they need to be squashed.

Bobby Rush is typical of his ilk

A black preacher activist who hates America and is willing to do whatever it takes to implement Marxist/Socialist/Communist practices. I went to the Black Panther's website and the crap on it is enough to make any American puke.

Garnet

Outstanding job of laying out the issue and the person (I use the term loosely) behind this gaaarbage.

Each of us needs to remember, IMHO, that the government cannot take away that which they do not grant. Our rights are NOT granted by any government, they are granted by our "Creator." Therefore, 'we the people' are the only ones who can give up those rights.

Personally, I don't intend to do that now, or in the future. End of discussion, from my POV.

Thanx for a thoughtful post, Garnet.

Garnet92

I did not know the black panthers had a website. Really, who doesn't. Not sure if I can go there. I needed a shower after going to the dailykos one day. That stuff was beyond ugly.

They

will never rest untill we are all just as brainwashed as they are--excellant post! The fire needs to be white hot and we must keep our powder dry.

Snow Knight, they are persistent

It is a lesson we can take from the libs, they are persistent and they are consistent in their core message - guns are bad, evil businesses take advantage of poor workers and repubs are war-mongers.

Amen Gunny

The NRA is about the only thing standing between their planned "gun grab" and the 2nd amendment.

AL, sorry - thougt I'd responded

The thing that burns me up the most about the libs is that practically all of their pet ideas fail every time they're tried - yet, they never acknowledge that fact and just keep keepin' on?

Sue, if you are interested

Here is a link to the NBPP website:

If you do go, bring a barf bag.

Garnet

Happened on and no need to apologize. Sometimes I get a little dizzy with all the reading I do and comments I leave. Golly, half the time I don't remember where I've been -- haha

Thanx for your thoughtfulness, Garnet.

No problem, AL

I, like most of us, do try to respond to all comments - even if I can't immediately. And, in your case, I just missed it. I do keep my notifying e-mails as "unread" until I respond so I'll never lose one completely, but if the e-mail slides off the first page, I can miss it for a time. Thanks for being so understanding!
