A Memorable Memorial Day

What a fabulous little curtal!! He knows the importance of remembering the past, so we do not repeat it.

We have done a lot of geneaology on both sides of the family. Our kids think it's fabulous that one of my ancestors was a grave digger in Spain! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

One of the memorable stories from my wife's side was of her ancestor who was caught stealing horses from the U.S. Cavalry and was hung as a horse thief in front of his store, with his family watching.

I though I was the only one at TH who had "dark spots" in his Family Tree!

You are so correct in taking your son to the museum. I hope you "documented" the trip. When he is your age, he will then be able to tell his children, and show them, about it.

Good job

If you get the chance, take him to the Marine Corps museum near Quantico. It's "hands-on" for the most part. Awesome.

Gray Ghost

I definitely documented the trip. One of the things he got to do was sit on an old antiaircraft gun and get to swivel it around and lower and raise the barrel to aim it. Got some pictures of him doing that.

Thanks, I will definitely do that one of these years. We have historical trips planned in the next few years to go visit battlesites (Civil and Revolutionary Wars).

We also plan to take him to the Capitol, so it should not be difficult to get to the Museum.

Thank you for sharing your day with us.Having three sons, myself,I enjoyed your day, too.

I heard Rush Limbaugh today, playing some exerpts of Barack Obama's Memorial day speech yesterday. He thanked 'the fallen veterans who were in the audience' and said he saw them.

Could it be he was confusing Veterans Day with Memorial Day? If so,gaffe #200. I haven't heard it on any of the news, though. Wonder why? LOL.
Thanks again...
