You've Missed the Point

Responding in kind is not a hallmark of those who are sincere about engaging the issues. I point out you own insults: "kool-aid drinking Limbaugh fanatics" Rick Warren is a "poser minister if there ever was one"

As for Mr. Obama's response to Pastor Warren's question: The response revealed a lack of appreciation of how leadership is exercised. "Above my paygrade" reveals that he is unaware of the responsibilities of office. In the government sector, no higher paygrade exists than President. A president's raison d'etre is, as so well put by Harry Truman, to deal with the buck that couldn't be stopped by anyone else. "Above my paygrade" is a not so subtle attempt to duck the question.

And just what is the question? It is not, strictly speaking, "when life begins". That is a scientific question and the answer is "at conception". The question of interest to all of us is, rather, when should nascent life be granted human rights and protection under the law. Mr. Obama's response is, and here he is clear, that human rights are to be accorded to an unborn child at the Mother's sole discretion.

What RvW decided is irrelevant to the question asked by Pastor Warren. What you've missed, I think, is the moral issue. When one fails to distinguish between the moral and the legal, as you seem to have done in your response, you do a disservice to proper exercise of conservative ethics.

Oh, and by the way, I suspect that Pat Buchanan is not viewed as a conservative in any philosophical or historical sense of the word.
