I'm in full agreement about your views on welfare, the government run welfare is corrupted and wasteful.

I'm a devout Christian, Lutheran, to be exact. But I don't think God cares about politics. "Good" and "politician" should never be in the same sentence. They all work to achieve one thing: reelection by giving their state what they want. Politicians can put on a false persona, but that can't fool God. On the last day, God isn't going to ask you who you voted for in '08, he's going to ask you why he should let you into Heaven... I doubt "I voted for Bush!" is going to work. Rather, focus on the fact that God is love and that the blood of Christ is what bought you, not the vote for the "right" cannidate. My point is, I think God mostly lets free-will come into play with politics.
