Obama spoke in empty platitudes devoid of substance and the masses swooned (so did the media). We ought to convey conservative principles and the hope they provide butbased upon realideas and concrete facts. This is how Reagan created the conservative revolution.I respect McCain but...his lack of conservatism was one of the problems and this is why talk radio supported him kicking and screaming. You are right, of course. Some conservatives (like McCain) have recognized the need to change and have mistakenly changed their principles, rather than the packaging. Compounding their error, many conservatives have belittled the very qualities that make liberalism attractive: youth, passion, energy, hope. These ought not be mocked, but rather, embraced. We need to reverse our direction. Go back to the principles that work, and take a lesson from the bleeding heart liberals and reclaim the intensity and emotion of our founding fathers. Like Obama - but better.
