Death Penalty and Jesus

Jesus and Justice

Do the words of Jesus: "let the one without sin cast the first stone" clarify what Jesus would do today on the issue of the death penalty.
Old Testament Law would clearly allow for the "eye for an eye...life for a life" taking place. But - Jesus never reiterated that response during His earthly ministry.
And - can we forget He permitted Himself, along with two deserving criminals, to be executed? We refer to His crucifixion but was it not an execution? Methinks it was!!

Death penality

God ordained it at the beginning, I read no where in the Word where he recended it! Do U?! If so, show it to me! [ I am a conservative, ordained, minister. I speak at the jail on a regular basis.]

I guess you rather rush to make your point than address mine. I mentioned the 'cast your stone' story, but if you read it in the NIV it has this phrase: ((The earliest and most reliable manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53-8:11.)) There is a possibility that it never occurred.

The 'eye for an eye' is a limit or in another words the punishment must meet the crime.
