Top 10 reasons why I could never become a liberal

why I'm not a Liberal...

I've got half a brain and a lick of sense....

Eric, you never cease

to amaze me. Keep up the good work my young patriotic friend.

davecatbone

I could have saved alot of time with a comment as short and to the point as yours!

Couldn't agree more!

Bobbie

Thanks! I love writing, and even though I was very tired today, I felt like this would make a good blog.

Eric

You have a great talent. Keep it up.

BTW, try and convert some of those Che t-shirt wearers!

GunnyG

Thanks. Thats something I can try!

True True True

I totally agree (except the tollerance thing, Ivan ruins that part).

Great post my brother!

Jim

Yeah, Ivan is in his own little world, but it's good he posts, so we can realize the brink between sanity and insanity, and never end up in that route! Thanks for your comment.

Eric

Great reasons and reasoning! Thanx.

I would take Davecat's listing one step further ... I actually have two brain cells that collide periodically and a ton of common sense. Haha

Eric

You can never be a liberal because you have too much common sense...your post reeks of it.

I’ve failed miserably at number five. Old dawg, new tricks.

Thank God you’re on our side. Your writing gives me hope.

Mrs. AL

Yeah, even though reality is hard, at least we see it! Liberals tend to escape into their own worlds and maintain a very strange way of life. Kind of like pod-people! Thanks for your comment.

INTHENOW

Thanks for your comment. There are plenty of youngsters, such as I, who did not vote for Obama and do not want the future this administration is creating. The uninformed are the votes we need to retake this country back.

Yeah, with liberals #5 can be hard to maintain! But, I try to keep my cool as much as possible in debates, and try to listen to their entire point. But you know as well as I do how liberals tend to argue! Thanks for your comment.

Wonderful points

Dennis Prager has many of the same ideas and we can see that people of principle must never, never, never be seduced to the Dark Side. Our eternal future as well as our nation's future depends upon it.

rackoons

I agree. I also listen to Dennis Prager and enjoy his discussions. I don't ever want to sell out my principles, or my beliefs, as do you, unlike many of our political leaders. Money and power corrupt. Thanks for your comment.

Eric

I liked your one reason, "because I am nice." What is with all of the hate on the left. It's not funny, it is pathetic. And it seems to get worse each year.

I have too much common sense! And I actually read. I don't look at a headline and go - right on!

Sue

Exactly, you'd think the left would be happy right now, but no, the anger keeps on coming! Yeah, you and others here actually read, as do I! And what we read does not consist of revisionist history, MSNBC headline, or something from the New York Times.

Obama Cartoon!

Great blog, Eric! And a good reply from davecat! Hahaha! I agree with all your reasons and would add that Conservatives are pro-life, from the unborn, to the elderly and infirm. The acceptance of assisted suicide by states is frightening. Who can decide and make what would be the final decisions for the quality of life of the elderly and severely disabled? Something that troubles me.

You are nice! Your responses are always thoughtful and tolerant of other`s views.

dawndawn

Thanks! I agree completely with your comment. Those that are pro-choice seem to be flip-flopped on the wrong side! They want to close gitmo, yet support abortion and euthanasia. Aren't we protecting the wrong people then? Some strange beliefs these people portray!
Thanks for your comment.

My number 11

Because I actually work for a living.

Good post, my brother.

Crawfish

That too! Thanks for your comment.

Eric

Great Post as usual. Let’s start at the top.
1. Right on, I think that the constitution is settled law and is not a living breathing document. It’s funny most liberals want to get rid of things that are in it and put things in there that are not like “the right to privacy”, which does not exist.
2. If you look at my Biography First I am a Christian, then an American, then a Conservative, and finally a Republican, in that order.
3. Provide for the Common defense. We should build more weapons so we will never have to use them. All other arguments will not matter if we are all blown to bits.
4. The problem with socialism is you eventually run out of other people’s money.-Margaret Thatcher. 90% of the rich people are rich because they worked hard for a long time in their field and made the necessary sacrifices to become rich. On the other hand, 90% of the poor people are poor because they want everything the rich people have but they refuse to do the hard work and make the same sacrifices that the rich people have made because they feel they are owed the good life just for being alive.
5. Most liberals are mean, most conservatives are nice.
6. If you cannot say the enemy is your enemy, the enemy has already won.
7. I love a good debate, one that is based on reason.
8. (See above) Liberals cannot win arguments anymore so they just use names like racist, sexist, homophobe, anti-Latino and the like.
9. Any foreign citizen is welcome in my home as long as he or she is here legally.
10. Liberals think water-boarding a terrorist is wrong but the murder of a defenseless child should be celebrated. That is why I could never be a liberal.

Stop by my blog for a new post talking about 10 principles we can apply to win every single time.

MSJR

Excellent points. I'll stop by your blog soon.

Eric re 10 reasons....

EXCELLENT post!! Once again you have nailed it! Your 10 reasons say it all and no need for explanation!! Keep up the great work!!

Eric

Another good post!

Liberals do NOT think for themselves or perceive the cost and value of our Freedom.

KevInFl

Thanks! Of course I believe anybody here could come up with many more, but these suffice.

Jennifer

They only think with emotions, which can lead to disastrous results.

ERIC

The decalogue of anti-liberalism, very very good.

Apollospeaks

Thanks. It was easy to write.

Eric

Just posted a comment on Curt's blog about the gay marriage debate and I have an addition to the list ...

I passed grade-school biology.

mrs. Al

HAHa. Love that one! Love the sinner hate the sin. If gay marriage is legalized in all states then the moral degradation of our great country will advance so rapidly pedophiles, sex with animals, and even the legal age of consent will be attacked and possibly implemented into our society leading to our downfall. This county can destroy itself without having terrorists or enemies accomplish the feat. They'd sit on the sidelines waiting till we implode on ourselves.

Excellent, young Eric. Enjoyed

it. The one and only editorial suggestion -- since words mean things and NAMES mean things -- would be that we are NOT in a "War on Terror". I fear that we have George W. Bush's "compassionate conservatism" to blame for that.

In 1941 we didn't declare war on airplanes. We declared war on the Japs. We don't wage war on the enemy's tools. We go to war with the enemy.

We are at war with Islamofascists.

drpete

Good point. No reason to be politically correct, right?!

Number 4 is based on

the Biblical truth that mankind is generally self-oriented, selfish, and will do what get him/her the most for the least effort. It has sometimes been called greedy. Whatever you want to call "it" the truth is roughly as you described: a significant part of the population will always act in his or her own self-interest (Paul called it following after the flesh).
Laziness is just another form of greed. If I can get something for nothing, what can be more greedy than that?
Therefore an economic system will maximize productivity (and rising standards of living overall) by appealing to self-interest. Also referred to at times as the profit motive.
No-one is suggesting that greed is a virtue. Greed (self-interest) simply is a fact of life, which is not going away, therefore an economic system must be designed to appeal to it, and to reward productivity rather than reward laziness.

Curt

I agree. I also think that sometimes someone can be misconstrued as greedy in this society when in fact they're doing their jobs selflessly to help their family or a friend. Our country lives off of greed, to those who work hard to make an honest living, and those who work for money and power. Seems to work.
