Islam Is Peace?

Therein raises the issue ... in order to be an observant and righteous Muslim, must one continue on the pathways that we find many jihadis and fundamentalist Muslims going along? If this is true, it causes a conundrum. One cannot sacrifice others' rights to preserve their own. What I mean is, basically, my right to hit you stops at your face. Can there be a happy medium for the "faithful" of Islam and also be law-abiding non-coup forming American citizens?

I'm not so sure. Not if what you say about later revelations superceding the more... peaceful previous ones.
