WHERE WAS JOHN McCAIN???????
CAN YOU, MY FRIEND, TELL ME WHERE JOHN McCAIN WAS WHEN BILL CLINTON GUTTED THE MILITARY, MY FRIEND? WHY DID OUR WAR HERO LET THAT HAPPEN, MY FRIEND? CAN YOU TELL ME THAT, MY FRIEND, OR SHOULD I SAY, MY AMIGO? JOHN McCAIN BRINGS UP THE "SURGE", MY FRIEND, AND WE PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE NEEDED THE SURGE, IF OUR MILITARY WOULD HAVE BEEN MANNED AS IT WAS UNDER REAGAN. I HAVE A FRIEND OF MINE DOING HIS THIRD TOUR, MY FRIEND, BECAUSE OF NOT ENOUGH MANPOWER IN THE MILITARY. AND THEN, JOHN'S GREAT IDEA, IS TO RECRUIT ILLEGAL ALIENS, LIKE THE FINE MARINE DOWN IN NORTH CAROLINA, THAT DISPATCHED HIS GIRLFRIEND. MY FRIEND, DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT BEING A POW FOR 5-1/2 YEARS QUALIFIES YOU TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY. MR.McCAIN WILL NOT BE PRESIDENT, BECAUSE A LOT OF REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVES, AND NON REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVES WILL NOT VOTE FOR HIM FOR SEVERAL REASONS, AND ONE OF THE BIGGEST REASONS IS AMNESTY. HE IS A PHONEY AND HE IS A LIAR BY OMISSIONS AND HALF-TRUTHS. IF I WERE HIS COMMANDING OFFICER, I WOULD HAVE DRUMMED HIM OUT OF THE SERVICE. HE WILL BE DRUMMED OUT FROM SERVING AS COMMANDER IN CHIEF. WE WILL NOT ALLOW HIM TO BE ELECTED. HE DOES NOT DESERVE IT.

Fritz, "My Friend"
Fritz,
First let me indicate that I never in my blog post pointed to McCain service as a qualification as a candidate. I think his service is tremendously honorable but not a qualification.
John McCain helped Reagan build the military. If you are going to allege that John McCain is responsible for Bill Clinton tear down of the military, why not hold other Republicans serving under his presidency as well? They were there too.
If you think McCain is a liar than you must think Romney is too. Because he has changed positions on several key conservative issues as well: abortion, gun control, immigration to list an important few.
I can tell immigration is an important issue for you. I can honestly say I don't agree with Senator McCain on most of that issue. Take the test for your other issues. See who comes out better: Clinton, Obama or McCain.
We owe a great deal of respect to your friends in the military. I am grateful for their service. But you can’t honestly think McCain is a better option for them than Obama or Clinton? God bless and good luck.

davidkfuller,
I can honestly say this link pretty useless in weighing in on issues. A few that have no relvance on issues.
3. McCain gave military secrets to the Viet Cong. Which he admitted to in his own book.
4. McCain made radio announcements for the Viet Cong telling American sailors and soldiers not to fight and to give up.
5. McCain cheated on his wife with more than one woman and admitted it.
6. McCain left his wife when she was sickly and needed him most.
9. McCain was heavily involved in the Keating 5.
10. Obviously not doing his job.
11. Mudslinging Grouch
16. Calls a kid a jerk for asking a question.
Take the test. Think of the big picture. God bless and good luck.

NoBrain McCain fails the test
Abortion - a non-issue because it is already law. Reminder: George W is also pro-life
Immigration - We will be flooded with more illegals after he agrees to amnesty. Our economy is already in trouble because our wages are not going up with prices.
Economy - He is unwilling to debate Mitt on the economy after he originally told Tim Russert that he would. In the last debate, he had to change the subject from the economy to Iraq because he doesn't understand it. He thinks our economy has been good and that the rebates are the solution.
Taxes - Voted against the Bush tax cuts.
He probably has the perfect conservative web page because he knows that he needs our votes. We judge him on his record. Hillary and Bill already have 8 years experience.

If we are going to get a Democrat for President, then I had rather have Clinton or Obama. At least they are honest about what they are. Why didn't McCain run as a Democrat since they love him so much?

I don't agree with McCain on everything. I do think that in the debate it was a bit of a cheap shot, I will give you that.
If you want his record look at this: "McCain has received a total American Conservative Union rating of 82 percent".
You can't dismiss abortion. There are other key areas like late term abortions, waiting periods, parental notifcation, etc. If you are going to point out that George W is pro-life than why not that he is pro-immigration? Did that stop you from voting for W?
Again, you can vote for you want. But if McCain is the nominee, why not? I also have to believe you care about more than 4 issues. Yes, some are more important that others but look at the big picture.

3rd Party for Conservatives
Yes, I admit that I voted both times for George W. because I thought that he was the best candidate. But since McCain is another step to the left, I just can not vote for him. I could vote for Huckabee, Romney, or even Paul.
You are right about important issues, so we should not settle for McCain (can't trust him). A conservative rebellion is an opportunity for an independent candidate to become president if McCain gets the Republican nomination. This may help the conservative movement if a 3rd party is created. It is time that we all stand up to the media and Republican leaders.

Two words: Ross Perot
He basically opened to door for Bill Clinton being the President in 1992. A 3rd party will only give the election to the Democrats again. With what the Clintons did in 1992-2000 are you will to sacrafice the same things again?

Well, I happen to be one who agrees with you. Look at the bigger picture.
If we have a democrat congress with a democrat pres we are going to get all the socialist policies and programs they want. Who would stop them.
While I do not like McCain and have many issues with him, I would vote for him if he becomes the nominee in order to stem the rise of socialism which is surely the agenda of Hillary and Obama.
I don't know what people are thinking of when they just would allow a socialist to take the WH on a silver platter. The traditionalists in this country would have absolutely no say in anything. None of these socialists are going to give a whit about our issues.
btw, it's best to stay in the closet. LOL. I've let my opinion known on the blogs and it will probably spell the death knell for me and my blog
I sincerely hope if fritz comes back he turns off his caps lock. Geesh, so blinding on a Sunday morning.

Additionally
With the dems in office, every time they are we get more crazy liberal stuff that never gets rescinded.
Roe vs. Wade I would personally like to see revoked being anti abortion.
All the PC crapola, the stem of anti-military, the freedom of speech being squelched with the liberals "rules" about what is correct or not has eroded the First Amendment. Our schools don't teach basics any longer, but PC stuff that has no business being taught. I could go on and on, but we have already lost so much, why allow more and more to be lost is my question. Another 8 years of a Hillary or Obama will mean big losses for traditional people in this country who are sick of this country being dragged down into depravity.
I would suspect GOP that you will receive a lot of angry comments here. I see you are able to take it very well. Good for you.

Thank you for the kind words. I hope that if McCain does get the nomination people get to the acceptance phase at some point. Thank you for at least being rational about the whole thing. I stay in the closet and get to experience liberals in their natural habitat. God bless and good luck.

I agree that McCain is not perfect or ideal. Nobody is. But I am just asking if (keyword being if) he wins the nomination is Clinton or Obama being elected worth it? Common sense should say no. Unfortunately, some conservatives don't seem to be rational about it and want to disregard him like any Democrat. My point is that he is far from being a liberal even if you do have disagreements with him. I agree his immigration stance was a tough one for me to swallow. But it was Bush's plan and conservatives even knew his stance on immigration and voted for him,... twice. Thank you for your thoughts and input.

Thanks for your comment to my blog entry.
If it came down to a choice between Hill/Bill and McCain, of course I could not vote for Hill/Bill. I might leave the President choice blank.
If it came down to a choice between Obama-danna and McCain, of course I could not vote for Obama-danna. I might leave the President choice blank.
Actually, I lean toward Huckabee, although I don't believe he has a snowball's chance. He seems to be honest, sincere, nimble in discourse, and extremely intelligent -- more than we give him credit for.
I do not lean in any way toward Romney. In my opinion he is simply too slick, too nimble (glib?). Honesty? Don't have an opinion. Intelligent? Certainly I'll give him that.
Are there still write-in capabilities? Then perhaps there is hope.

I know you wouldn't vote for Hillbama. But if conservatives didn't vote for McCain how does that not help Hillbama. It maybe the lesser of two evils in some eyes but I don’t buy that.
As far as write-in, look back to 1992 when Ross Perot stole the election and gave it to Bubba. Third parties never work. Even if you want a conservative candidate some people are varying degrees of conservative in the GOP. Fred Thompson was looking like a good possibility but just never got the passion out. Thanks for the comments and feedback.

No mas Juan McCon!
I voted for McCon in 2000, prior to the derailment of the "Straight Talk Express." Now, he's got more grease on his jersey than Gaylord Perry.
He's for blanket amnesty and endless war (Ronald Reagan reminded us that democracies don't start wars). He has no friggin' clue as to what to do about the economy, and he admitted it up front. Frankly, as a Goldwater Republican, I don't care what Fred and Ted do in bed, and I am not the slightest bit inclined to ask or change my vote on that score.
And McCon is a real "character" guy, just like Rudy. If he'll cheat on his wife, he'll cheat on you.

Que Juan McCon?
If it's Juan McCon vs. the Hildebeest, there's not a reason to get me off the couch. On the issues I care about, they're pretty much indistinguishable. They don't give a rodent's biblical transport about the little guy, and it's economic issues that matter first and foremost.
America as an empire is done. We are now the world's largest importer of finished goods and the largest exporter of raw materials. We have no border or law to speak of. We're a banana republic with nucular weapons. Thanks, GOP.
Let the Hildebeest win. She can hardly do worse than the GOP has done over the past seven years.

--------------------------------
I concur entirely. I judge the man by his lack of character, and he has proven that the VC performed a backbonectomy.
The Bush tax cuts were a bad idea, as all they did was max out our American Express card and bankrupt the country. I'll give McCon that one. Reagan would have done (and, did do) the same thing.
Beyond that, it is hard to find anything to praise about him.
When it comes to electability, McCon does well in blue states (do you really think the Party has a snowball's chance in hi11 in NY or CA?), but has no chance against Obama in the South.
Might as well stand on principle.

Libertarian Party is probably calling your name. By the way, McCain does have a 82% lifetime voting record with the ACO (American Conservative Union), Jesse Helms was in the 90s%. God bless and good luck.
