Nazism and Islamo-Facism Justified by History?

National Socialism

Nazi was short for national socialism. Nazism was a state-controlled economy--socialism--and facism wrapped up as nationalism.

Nazism wasn't a respone to socialism; it was a type of socialism.

The Middle East has already tried the failed Western policies: nationalism, statism, etc. These policies have failed to produce the splendor of the Ottoman Empire at its height. The Middle East is beginning an experiment with democracy. If it is nurtured it may produce a domino effect, if it produces successful Islamic societies.

If the societies are not successful, then the siren call of Islamo-facism remains. If the societies are not Islamic, then they are not "legitimate" and are susceptible to the slings and arrows of Islamo-facism.

The current rise of Islamo-facism is an attempt to reclaim past glories: to reassert Islam as the pinnacle of civilization. If a different way can be shown to reclaim Islamic greatness, then there exists a viable alternative to the facism of UBL, Ahmadinejad, and al-Banna and Sayid Qutb. If not, then there will be a large minority fighting to reclaim that glory.
